Good morning tea drinkers..
Thanks go out to those who grow, process and deliver the nectar of life to our cups....

I need a blackout blind for this room of mine at this time of the morning...

and my latest 'project'
receiving data from very low power satellites:ohmy:

more scary, the board of 'tricks' is from the land across the seas (eastwards)
If I'm 'interesting ' to them then:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I can disable apps to not track me..

Mind you, the latest scandal with the Tim Hortons one across the pond is scary

We talking about tea or coffee here.
Can't you move the bed so that it's not looking out the window.

There's a few up their to follow. Musk had better watch out. What are the yellow areas on that map? Can you pick up any of what they're sending?

You might be of interest to "them". You have a Russian map of Scotland, presumably with "places of interest" marked.

We talking donuts now? Did a search for "Tim Horton" and the first hit was a shop woth his name on it, in Bury!
I believe they do coffee as well now though. And are owned by McDonald's.
Summat odd going on.

That is Norby (Norbi)..
that's my last decode at 15.18 local, I'm one of the two basestations in the bottom right hand corner
over 2,000 kms away (i had a CRC error)
most powerful of the CubeSats for what I do..
a lot of them are small, and I mean like 10cmx10cmx10cm...and very low power.
The above one is doing 7 watts just now, normally 2 but the internal batteries can have extra capacity build up when it is on the daylight side, it will be back at 2 watt soon enough.
Google LoRa..
The others are in the milliwatts....

Yellow marks are my hotspots for picking up signals, the map only holds so many decode points as it would be clogged up so it is only the last so many...

Garden shed got its second coat of wood oily stuff,
two loaves made so need one plus point for today....

I have an original Russian OS copy of Greenock and Gourock on the wall behind me...

Putin on the style................groan:blush:

You planning on taking them over and reversing the signal from them?
Not the dots, the yellow areas, like that over most of Sweden & Finland? on the map.

You might have done better coating it in oil. It'd last longer and protect better than most of the wood treatment products sold now.

Any fish caught, to go along with the loaves. Would baking another loaf get the point you need.

That was a bad one, depart stage left to the sound of the "Comedian's Anthem".

The yellow areas are where I receive best and that will include past results, a month in to this and have over 350 confirmed packets so that would be a mess with all those dots, I can't remember last 50 ?
I rx two types of packets, fully received and ones with CRC errors....something not right with them, these small satellites are tumbling at high speeds and it can be your luck...
I haven't decided what antenna I'm going to use yet, lazy I am.
I have either a LoRa device nearby or something is near the same frequency as a bunch of sats, that band is full of all sorts of devices, car stuff, remote garage doors, my WX station is in the area. I can sit and watch all sorts of signals dropping down my SDR waterfall...

Have yourself a browse through this site HERE, worth going back the posts..

Gotta fly

Easy understand when you put it that way.
You ever able to tell what it is you've got, as in any common bits in the transmissions.

I blame the Japanese for the satellites getting smaller.

Will listening to cars and garage doors yield anything interesting. A garage door complaining about how it's never used to it's full potential, to the car inside it.

You need to get some solar panels to help power all this.
What'll happen if you get a "Wow" signal?

Got a satellite to catch?

I am using a omnidirectional (360°) so I could target them with a directional antenna with gain which would let me decode further out that way.
It's more to do with the lie of the land, out east I have very little blocking the horizon, West slightly hillier but still have a decent horizon, curvature of the earth etc.
those behind the project are adding to the software as they go, it's not the finished product.
I'm really in a rotten location for all this..
I get 90°here to the east, the other 270 has high ground rising but out W isn't as high as SW and NW.
It's all elevation and azimuth. .I have to learn more about that..
I need a :cuppa:

I just answered that again  well, edited a wee bit.

Using the most simple equipment now, you can listen to LF up to 2Ghz.....a lot of empty space but....

Just for info, I decoded Norby at 7 watts 32 times today, I got it three times yesterday at 2 watts,
wow? one of the Fossasats at 158 milliwatts at 2, 200 kms

Have I read it right, you're getting the signal going to the satellites along with what they're transmitting?
How "far out" are you planning on going!!
Low earth orbit not far enough?

Be careful with yer azimuths, get that wrong and you could be in all sorts of trouble. You get that cuppa down yer.
You testing the software and hardware as it comes out. In exchange for a lower price.

Am I right in thinking that 2GHz is coming close to mobile phone area.

I'm receiving BUT the intention is for sending messages etc etc, I will be able to send messages because I have my ham radio licence as I can transmit on this band, it's in the future, I can work more conventional ham radio satellites..
see this HERE
He eventually gets there..
I haven't tried it but have heard then just on the handheld (outside)...

Nah, its free...
I would 'help' but it's way above my head....
they do get the data etc...
The highest I use for RX purposes is 1090 Mhz adsb, although I may try some microwave stuff at 1296mhz, all I need is a transverter and an antenna and the top of a hill (or good car park) two exceptional ones nearby^_^

Best RX is 2593 Kms.....

2.4ghz is one wifi band..

Will anyone be able to pick up your transmissions, by plan not by accident.
The thought of you broadcasting using those, to get your message to a larger audience, doesn't bear thinking about.
You'll not be happy with one.

You are helping, seems it's developed with feedback from those using it.

If my WiFi goes funny now, I'll be blaming you.

Morning all.
I have just had this arrive.

11 years!
I had my Apollo XC26, that I had been given, when I joined here. Living just outside Inverness and saving up £600 for a Giant Defy 2, which I bought at the end of August.
Having just walked away from my current partner, leaving at his house, my MB Dronfield, Mercian and a tandem that we bought together and was delivered just 2 weeks and a day ago, I feel that 11 years has wrought a lot of changes.
Happily my Genesis is at my home, as is my Trek commuter (would rather have had my Mercian here) but I can’t be crying over spilt milk. I am unlikely to see the Mercian again and it’s just a thing.

I am about to start batch cooking, ready for the week or two ahead. Can you freeze jambalaya, would you think?

Not certain on the freezing side. You could try once I suppose.

You started out with an Apollo, where'd it go can you remember?
