That was tough. Feeling weak at the start though and struggled to take my turn at the front. Seemed to need 400watts to lead.

It was tough Bill. We did well to stay with them as long as we did. Everytime the speed dropped to 47kph they would pull away. I couldn't keep that up after 30k. But we should take some pride for what must have been a near enough 48-50kph average until then.

So that's how you did it Lars. Right I'm putting Cider and Lager in my water bottle next time,
I almost didn't have to google "snake bite" to figure out that there's actually a drink with that name .

I missed most of that but caught some excellent drafting by runar and Bert. Well done guys, it looked a lot smoother than I've managed so far.
really happy runar was there really enjoyed that once we got into a rhythm where runar fronts it for a mile and I front it for 3/4 mile:blush: was easier than normal due to the loooooooooooooooooong flat sections :heat:

Yep, nice one Lars, I finally got some drafting in and have never had so many 'rests' in a session before.
Had a nice little 4 man team going there and it wasn't long before I realised that we were on a pace to beat my lone effort on Tuesday so the winner of this Stage could well take GC in the League.
Bill, I missed you dropping of the back there as I was concentrating too much on the front of affairs and by the time I noticed you going backwards I felt that I might be risking the GC if I dropped back what with Bob and Lars doing so well.
Lars, I couldn't work out how much you had left so risked taking the upper hand on that final small climb and almost blew myself up but once you went past I knew I just had to stay within 5 seconds of you to take GC.
So all fair in love and war, you got the Stage (and the Vet 2 record) and I got GC.
Good news for you is that the Stage Record stays on the screen for all to see but the GC win only shows to those in the League.
Can't believe there's more than 100 watts between us. I did seem to feel the effect of drafting for the first time during a league race, but it was very inconsistent.

Wondered where you vanished to. @Goldwolfie dropped back to pick you up the first time and pace you back .... it felt like a real ride

I didn't think I had a full race in me after last nights Moose climb. Stuck at it as long as possible then just dropped off. I wanted to tell you guys to leave me but couldn't - so glad you two powered on. I so wanted to try to get you to Peke but legs had other ideas!

Really enjoyed it, but you 2 are just too strong for me :notworthy:
I really enjoy the rotation of a draft tonight . GW was the strongest amongst us :notworthy: and good to see that even when alone you held the pace :notworthy:. I just wish I could have stayed on line for the full distance :cursing::cry:.

I almost always run a secondary device to record my sensors hr, speed, cadence and power. Tonight I am told by the edge device I have set a distance record of 30 miles for all my fragments of sessions. Bkool tells me I've done 21. 16 of which normally works out about 5 true miles as it a mountain descent. So I've lost about 25 miles of data from bkool :angry::banghead:

Yes, GW was a powerhouse. I tried to take my turn at the front but just felt I was holding you both back. I'll rest tomorrow and see if I can make the re-run on Saturday. I think @Monte might join us too so could be a little group.

The more that group together the easier it should be, I hope .

How the heck did you manage to stay focused for an hour and 3/4 on that almost pan flat stage Whorty? :notworthy:. If I was on my own I would have colapsed after half way :surrender:.

I quite literally had my head down and pedaled. Didn't watch the screen much. The last 10k was agony, with lots of swearing  The wife finds it so funny when I shout at myself .... things like "come you fat b@stard, keep those legs moving". :banghead:

Really enjoyed the first half of tonight's epic, and I thought we made a really good attempt at this drafting malarkey.

I noticed a big difference when I was on my own for the last 12 miles or so. I tried to maintain that 20.5 mph average we had been tootling along at as a threesome, which I did but my BPM and Avg Power shot up to do so, and I was tattered at the end of it.

So this drafting obviously works, and hopefully I will get another chance to join you guys, but won't be able to make Saturday as I'll be at the Wolves game.

I was getting some really inconsistent power readings considering it was pretty much a flat course. I noticed it on Tuesday that particularly after the
small descents the speed would stay on a bit too easily and the power readings would go pretty high so I wouldn't read too much into the power readings.
