By the way you have previously mentioned a pick up truck why on earth aren't you towing with that for the full weekend "we'll tarmac your drive for you sir" effect?
If I mentioned a pick up truck, it was quite simply attention seeking. I don't own a pick up truck nor have I ever. I would have gladly continued weaving my intricate web of lies, were it not for the fact that my wife now occasionally peeks at the forum, and would no doubt confirm this immediately.
So, sadly, you can now saddle me with a very uncool, Avensis, which is now sporting some impressive mud rooster tails on both front wings.

Damn must have got that wrong, in my mind you were like a Welsh version of Colt Seavers from the Fall Guy.

By the way bad form as it is to reply to my own post I was very excited as I pedalled along to realise that I was cycling part of a route that I did in real life last year when I pedalled over to Arnhem.
I was the same for stage 3 into Zaragoza, shame there was no video .

Yep was in video mode I keep forgetting to turn it out for chain gang rides and quite like the videos. Oddly I recognised a bit of road works. I also stopped part way along the route for a pancake which was a definite win for real world.
The one thing that I picked up on in the video for this stage was the suicidal tendancies of some of the riders . The camera bike went past a school at kicking out time and nearly got taken out by the kids on bikes leaving school grounds. None of the ones I saw looked towards the camera before pulling into the road. Then a bit later it tries to overtake a small pickup truck with a trailer and almost gets taken out, a poor choice of overtaking spot. I was almost tempted to redo the stage, in video mode and record it   :headshake:, just to see if I did see it right. It had me going for the brakes a few times :laugh:.

I've been working at our Klukwan clinic up near the Canadian border in the land of Mountain goats and moose. Back in cell phone range and catching up on the chat. I plan on riding the Bkool all summer. While the weather does get better we never get more roads in Sitka. Also on Friday moving a heavy piece of equipment I ruptured my bicep tendon. I'll have an MRI when I get back to Sitka on Tuesday but I don't think I'll be doing any mountain biking soon. It is h@ll to get old.
Like everyone else I appreciate the work the admins do.

Ouch! Surgery to reattach?

I have never been fitter, but are carrying a few injuries, which impede function

I second the praise the admins, Geoff, Rick and any others in the background that do in setting up and maintaining the leagues:okay:

Talk about getting old, it's my B'day tomorrow, got my new hybrid Volvo, wife's doing me a special prize:biggrin:. I expect a very generous handicap, so I win by miles:laugh:

Now, two out three wishes would be fantastic, guess which wish I would drop?

It kind of depends how special the wife's prize is. I wouldn't trade the Volvo or the favourable handicap.

Get well soon Randy (I was looking forward to dicing with you)...

I'm a +1 for taking part in the league during the summer, indoor workouts are good for training and I need all the help I can get.

Just logged in for first time in 5 days and only got 25 ish pages to catch up on.

Anyways - Cyprus is magic. Weather is fantastic - roads amazing and drivers very respectfull.
Finished 3 day event and whilst its killed me I loved it and I did not come last. Done about 300K and 4,500 m of vertical.

Next stop Lanzarote - without bike:angry: - thinking of adding to luggage but not yet told wife.

I was chatting about the exact thing with the wife today. I think she is fed up with me looking at all the bikes out here in Mallorca. So she has given me a pass to come back out in October (half term) with my son and I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else was interested. So, although I haven't checked what the weather might be doing, is anyone interested in four or five days on a bike climbing some stunning mountains with plenty of hairpins on the way up (and down) and cafes at the top?
