I was chatting about the exact thing with the wife today. I think she is fed up with me looking at all the bikes out here in Mallorca. So she has given me a pass to come back out in October (half term) with my son and I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else was interested. So, although I haven't checked what the weather might be doing, is anyone interested in four or five days on a bike climbing some stunning mountains with plenty of hairpins on the way up (and down) and cafes at the top?
I would be there in a shot, if we weren't already going to Gran Canaria then! And that will be without bikes too.
Bill, you have rainy, windy, misty freezing Wales to look forward to. And there will be plenty of hills to climb, and descend, and I'm sure you remember the hairpins only too well?
I am actually starting to get quite excited about it now.

I am definitely up for 4-5 days somewhere subject to family approval. That's something easier to obtain if it's a very long weekend though that may not be practical.

Are the cafés open in October? It's just that last September a mate & I rode 38km up in the south of France to the Spanish border at 1500m (having started at around 200m), only to find the café at the border...closed! Not amused!

Likewise for me - I won't be packing the turbo away as Mrs GW uses it, and doesn't feel confident out in the big wild outdoors.

Plus we can't stop the 'autobus crew' just after it's taken off.:bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:

Also I really appreciate all the effort Rick has to put in to make it such fun for the rest of us.
I am not sure what number to give the bus. It could be 67 or 88.

Both serve as a very good guide and reminder of the responsibilities of the bus crew . So far, the two srevices we have had, have resulted in better than expected results :B). I think the more we get on the crew the better it will be, but only on the pancake sessions . When it goes up I go backwards .

I'd quite like a bus session on a hill ride like the Alpe d'huez ... I might be able to help my fellow mooses :hugs:On the pancakes I'm most definitely still a passenger. I'm the old woman with a blue rinse and the shopping bag on wheels

:B):mrpig::surrender: I'd make a very good anchor going up that mole hill :banghead:, over 2 hours the last time I tried it. Anything over 2% and more than 500m long and the speed disappears for me .

Get well soon Randy (I was looking forward to dicing with you)...

I'm a +1 for taking part in the league during the summer, indoor workouts are good for training and I need all the help I can get.
The reality of my life is that riding time during the days is very limited; I expect my summer rides will primarily be to get cam footage to upload to bkool :-)

Thus you can expect me to continue the handicap races as long as my boss doesn't schedule too much into that time slot. Whatever climbing leagues/groups we set up and the occasional chain-gang race when time permits.

I know, and I consider myself very lucky.
Loads of hills to rival the steepest in Europe, and it might even be warm and sunny.
Those hairpins seemed quite dangerous in the wind and rain and I was more than a little concerned about not getting myself slowed down for them in those conditions. This time will be so different.:sun:

I want to 2nd, 3rd, 4th....... The thanks to the admins who set up the leagues. :okay: Even though I sometimes struggle to get to the Thursday or Saturday group runs, I appreciate your hard work in making me suffer in the virtual bsim world.
