OK, so there's a bit more to drafting with faster riders than getting a good start! I stuck with you @BILL S and @LBHIFI but once you pulled away just a small gap I just couldn't stay with you - you were a frustrating few seconds ahead of me for a while! Great riding though and thanks for the drafting while it lasted - I'm exhausted now :heat:

Bridgy, big shame they dropped you. Looking at your stats you only needed I tiny bit more vavavoom and you could have stuck with them.
You don't seem to hit the power spikes as well as Bill on the climbs so you can loose at lot there for what is often a minimal amount of extra effort.
You are certainly getting there though!

Well done Bill/Lars, you both hit 50kph plus average so that tells me tonight was no armchair ride.
As I only have/had 9.4 seconds on you Bill in the league, with you Lars a bit further back because you have not done the bonus sprint, I have got my work cut out especially with there being quite a lot of downhill.

Fame at last.
You can borrow mine if you want!
Thanks for the offer, I'll be going on a search in Basingstoke town centre tomorrow for a copy, the two newsagents I tried today didn't have a copy.

Actually, I did the bonus sprint twice after the main race. I was right on Bills tail when my rear wheel began making strange noises. There was a crack in the rim and I guess the tyre is pushing the rim out so that it hit the break. I had to open up the brakes more and try again, but then got too eager and got "half-speeded" a few times and was ½ a minute down in no time.

Well Lars has done the bonus sprint now, but the timing was not good for obvious reasons.
As for tonights main ride, although it was a fast one, I think we'll go just that little bit faster on Saturday.

OK.......Real world TT done and dusted. At first I was happy with my time of 26:39 but just seen the results list online and I'm 34th out of 39!

40 seconds faster and I'll move up 10 places though so I think I could push harder next time as I wasn't completely shattered at the line.:bicycle:

Not easy this real world lark!

What sort of time are you thinking tomorrow Tommy? I had to put it off tonight.

I might join in tomorrow too though I don't want to knacker myself too much for Saturday.

You weren't using the on/off technique and climbing slingshots?
That would really blow the minds of any flowing club members, spectators and or marshals.

My first club 10 in 1976 was just over 30 mins. The next year I was down to 26 minutes at the beginning of the season and 24 at the end.
The next season I was hitting short 22's and by the end of that season I was nudging the club record.

In summary there is hope yet!

Getting penalised for going too fast.
That sucks!

Take the cover off of your turbo and check out the 4 small magnets that stick our on the inside of the flywheel.
If for some reason two of them are not held firmly enough they could be flying out with the centrifugal force and then only two of the magnets are being picked up by the sensor.
That would cut your speed by exactly a half.

I've usually found that Sainsbury's stock Cycling Weekly. Not sure about Hatch Warren but Calcot do, and Tadley.
