I tried to catch @RamirezAGC for part of that hill, but I was held off by a good 1.5 minutes and you were too strong for me :notworthy:
Thanks for the compliment but I was just head down and trying to get to the end of that nightmare hill.

I've started a trend
I've lost over two stone (12.7kg in new money) in the last 11 months, this cycling malarkey certainly had its benefits.

I agree with Whorty. And also love the honesty of the whole group.

I need a cuddle.

My problem with the blue numbers uphill is the drop in watts. I tried Dhuez to get my red hat back but the watts keep dropping when the numbers turn blue. I may have to do the dreaded FTP

Very good point Randy. The watts drop significantly when the numbers go blue.

Well done! I did lose a similar amount a couple of years ago and am now at the stage where losing any more is a real struggle and much more about what I eat than how much exercise I do. Not that I don't have some more to lose - so every lost kilo now is very welcome!

Just seen the results - I knew I was close to you at the end Bill but had no idea I was that close to AAAC - I'm sure the time gap was showing much more than that!

Thanks Bill - you're not really going to disqualify yourself are you? It's a hard line to draw regarding the use of Bkool quirks and what's "fair" or not isn' t it? You've said here that you got a bit of help from it which is very honest - maybe just leave it and that and let the result stand - I for one certainly wouldn't mind at all

Good of you to say Paul, but I think I crossed the line in what was acceptable under the circumstances. I decided not to save the ride and will just do it again on Saturday and do my best to avoid the blue number advantage. This is the first time I can remember it coming up in the Chaingang league because the hills are usually not steep.

LIVING THE DREAM
i think it made it alittle easier for me being a light light weight - i dont think the resistance is any harder at 15% than 10-11 % - i hope not anyway as there has to be a perk somewhere - as soon as the slope reduced i was watching the seconds dissappear 2 at a time what was horrible as there was nothing i could do about it . i had to keep standing up as i felt more comfortable but then the wheel slipped so had to sit down till legs burnt

Did a little test a while back on a 2D session going up in 1 degree steps every 500m at a steady wattage and the speed level of at 12%. I was going to repeat it a different weights to see if the flat line decrease with weight but never got around to it.

I lost a significant amount of weight, for me, last year, about 10kg. Nearly had to change the weight on bkoll (it has a 129kg max).

Then coming into Christmas it all went wrong with serial sickness from various members of the extended family knocking me over for about 2 1/2 months. Not quite all of it went back on. The real kicker for me though was the loss of wheel time and fitness. I have only just got back to where I was 5 months ago :cursing:

No, you were really close, and I had slowed to avoid overtaking AAAC who appeared to be really struggling. Hope he's ok.
Edit: I see he's ok .
