so would team green !!!

Something to look forward to after the summer, with a natural increase in participants we should be able to run more teams and/or have an extra rider or two in each team?

Now, do we want to give up on the TTT until the nights draw in, or try a few more runs, perhaps on a much flatter course, if we can find one and get good Handicaps in place?

I have to say the Team dynamic does seem to add something to the motivation!

Nothing off, I'm still smiling as I finished ahead of Bob. I don't care that he started late and is full of cold. It's not something that happens often, if ever.:hyper:

^_^
Kipster, I began to chase you down and got under a minute when the light came on in my head and I realised the closer I got the more likely you would speed up and stay with Team blue. So I thought, sod the team, I am still giving chase but 145rpm in top gear and 70 -75 kph brought me no closer. I just spun out. I think I might have sworn a few times:whistle: no Teamspeak for me!
Well done mate!

Well your improvement was quite spectacular and your moving time of 38:42 would just about put you in Team Not Red,

You've gone from Team White, to Team Green, to only about a minute off Team Red, so keep it up and Team Blue may soon be fighting for their places! :bravo:

Yeah, it will be my place:ohmy:
Time to slow your progress mate. You don't want to overdo it:okay:^_^

Hard luck Bob - I thought it was odd you dropped back a minute or so quite early on, but then the gap held steady for the rest of the race - what happened?

I wasn't paying attention when starting and probably clicked yes rather than no bringing me straight into the race 30 or so seconds early. So I came out, searched, restarted but was now 5 seconds late and the clock ticking away and this time clicked no but I had forgotten to start pedalling  So, complete balls up! Spun up and could see Bill 30 secs ahead. And then within a matter of seconds the 3 of you were almost 1-30 ahead. I imagined you 3 got a good start and now were working as a team. I would have to be AAAC , Kipster or Bazzer to be able to chase you down though I tried but from pretty much a standing start my lungs gave up before my legs did. Pride kicked in and I thought if I kept going you guys might slow or AAAC might drop back and I think he did. But I couldn't bridge, err, bridgy^_^.
Despite the balls up and not being there to lead Bill in on the sprint with TT I really enjoyed it. Madness...

I think Bill considers drafting lazy or something, and prefers the tactic of going 20 seconds or so up the road in order to encourage/shame the likes of me to get my finger out!
 I'm not going to totally deny that, but mostly I'm just doing what I think might work for the team on the day. I have spent some time out front at certain points, but mostly that's where I'm thinking drafting may slow us down if we can't do it effectively. Drafting is best when it's flat for long periods then it's easier to do and steady. Todays ride is not nearly as good as for example, this Thursdays chaingang ride for drafting. Then the team should be together until the hill at the end. For up hills I just try to avoid slowing the others down by having to wait for me so just try to get up them as quick as I can. Trying to draft up hills is likely quite pointless.

Definitely up for sticking with the TTT format team chat really adds to that too

I have a preference for the individual chase, but happy to continue with TTT format as well. Both are enjoyable when bkool cooperates... I'm sure if we keep running a TTT team white will eventually start drafting better.

Still hoping to get out in the real world again Thursday, though timing looks more and more difficult.

^_^ I'm only teasing Bill - and let's face it, the tactics seem to be working pretty well in the last couple of races

personally i really enjoy these rides and try my best to turn up and i know it is doing me good - so thank you for that ! i do struggle though as i am trying to get longer rides in getting ready for the north coast 500 and my teeny tiny legs can either do long distance slow or short distance not so slow ! they are rebelling about being asked to do both . but i will be around as much as i can --also my shed of pain is a bit like the sweat box in cool hand like at the minute !!

As much as I enjoy  the TTT and Individual Handicap chases. I need to get back to building fitness and loosing weight again. I feel I am letting my team mates and myself, on the individual chases, down by not being able to climb . Hopefully later in the year I'll be able to climb better and contribute more .

I'll try to join any that are organised but the change in priority will benefit me more in the long term :mrpig:.

I like the team TT Geoff - it's a really successful experiment! I would still be up for joining in as many handicap races as I can, as I find it a different type of workout to going out on the road, and if the weather's like it was last night I probably wouldn't go out anyway (plus it's good fun!)

It has however started to get hard for all teams to get four riders together on the night as fewer people are around now the weather's warming up, so I wonder if reverting back to individual handicap races might be an easier option for now? I'm happy either way though. That's if you're happy to keep doing them of course - really appreciate your efforts putting these together, thanks.

Bridgy sums up exactly my thoughts. Geoff, if you are happy to continue setting up either team or individual events, count me in.

It's helped me to lose 22 lbs over the winter, so I thank you and Rick for that, plus it's good fun too.

This week's turnout looked as if it was badly hit by sickness and technical issues on the night - I know I missed my Tuesday night pain fest, but unfortunately I was suffering ina far more unpleasant way.
