Randy, your living dangerously there by creating an empty space. The other half will soon have that filled up or try and claim it as a ' summer house'.
I'm being kicked out of the house due to "the huffing and puffing and the smell of sweat".

That was brutal. Congrats to the winner :bravo:. The rest, it looks like, were either in survival or consolidation mode.

They were all at risk of being washed backwards on a sea of hailstones at one point.
Happened to me in a car once and it was like driving on marbles.

Nice ride by Dumoulin though.

Not sure what is happening in the BMC camp though!

I did the second leg of the Summer cup and for now I'm on the same page as CXRAndy and Berty. I'm sure I'll be back on page 5 or 6 when the dust settles

Edit. I just saw Add put in some serious miles in the real world.

Yeah, Add's done a major duathlon I think. I assume he's been training off his turbo and had obviously fully recovered from the DD unlike myself.

I like to try to ride before work. My wife says it sounds like an asthmatic hippo going up a flight of stairs with some occasional swearing. When the new bkool shed is done she will get an extra hour of sleep.

You're lucky. My wife bursts out laughing every time she sees me in lycra, and that's been 3 or 4 years now. And her laughter is even more uncontrollable now that I've got the bib shorts

I'm going to try and do the July stage 2 rinse and repeat 4 1/2 times tonight. I will do a pot molle warm up then stage 2. Not sure on times as I am on call, so it all could go to poo before I even start. If you see me going feel free to join me.

Got back on the bike tonite and had a go at the Summer League Stage 1.
I challenged Jocab for what I thought would be a good carrot.
Unfortunately, or not, Jacob had got Pep Tache and AID in his session so I had the big boys on the screen as the carrot of death.
I used my 'Bill Start' to get ahead of the group and it worked well for a while and I was thinking I would get to the top of the first large ascent ahead.
Well is wasn't long before I saw my 160bpm 'take care limit' on the screen and Pep and AID were catching me.
I was not too far behind as they crested first large climb but I had nothing left in my legs to carry on the motion so I was forced to take a 'rest' on the decent to check my HR and ensure I had something left to finish with.
As a result they both strolled away from me when descending.
In the end I finished 5 minutes behind AID and 4 behind Pep.
I did shoot past them both on one of the earlier short climbs so it looks like Pep is on the new firmware but what is given with one hand appears to be taken with the other as I cannot produce Watts downhill like they can, part of which is not trying because I know where I will end up (in a ditch dying),
On the flatter section they both seem to be getting more speed for watts, I'm struggling to maintain 50 kph and they are hitting 60 which makes a big difference over the various km of flatter sections.
I was on my last legs at the end but it was needed as I was already getting used to not suffering.
I may need to work on my spinning on non-competitive nights to improve my descending but I do want to stick with this Summer League for now as the competition is really hard even with my old PCB.

I don't see how those two an be on the latest software/firmware if they are winning by that margin against you. fmpando won the summer cup last year and he is well behind you on that stage and so I would assume he has the latest firmware/software. If pep had the latest, he would have stopped dead a few times near the start and you would be gone.

You might be right Bill as we, all three, never went below 20 kph (ish).
They just look like they were stopping.

Was there an intermediate F/W where you guys were getting more speed on the flat, I seem to remember Bridgy mentioning that.
I had hard fights against fmpando in the GDI a couple of years back an no matter what stupid watts I averaged on climbs he still went faster than me but I think that was the earlier Pro/Classic devide.
