I was pretty much up for the rerun but already it is oppressively hot and muggy in London. My loft is sweltering. I have opened the windows and will turn the fans on 4ish to circulate air and make a decision then. If I don't I may race some ghosts later in evening or first thing tomorrow morning when the lift should be a little less oppressive.

Yes, the loft is far too hot for turboing. More like a sauna. I also may need to try and get in my quick time if/when it cools down sometime but I will be there at 5 today. Air con is already switched on but not expecting it to be cool enough. Will have to see how it goes.

I'll be there for a slow trundle today. I need to get some more miles done as my on call week has played its usual havoc, my eating of junk during these weeks is way out of proportion to normal. I've added a kilo back I thought I'd dropped along the way.

Tomorrow I want to do a longish ride so don't want to burn myself out today.

well, all i did was lower my saddle a cm and replace my rear inner tube and put 120psi in. The other night i noticed the valve would not take air and the tube was deflated enough to cause a horrible squelching noise as i cycled. Problem solved. Saddle has always been higher than on my best bike and not sure why...
Bill, sorry for going off so fast but i now know 400w plus to stay in front of you unless you are smashing it, and 380 plus to keep you at bay. ditto.Of course all that will go out the window like stale hot air when you put me in my place next time. Shame we could not have stayed together though and challenged lB's time. I didnt realise i was close to it:rolleyes:

I thought you would beat my time for sure, it was only on the last hill you seemed to run out of steam. Well done, that was a crazy ride, like you did an all out sprint every 30 seconds. In the old days the momentum would have brought you 5-10 minutes ahead.

Well done Bob. I had no answer to you today and I couldn't go any faster in these conditions. I thought I might catch you early on after you passed me but I soon realised you intended to keep your speed up and there was little I could do to stay with you. If I'd known you were so strong today I'd have clung on at the start and drafted you.

Thanks LB. i was expecting Bill to catch me by then as my average watts dropped and eased off and relaxed a little when I realised I was safe. To be honest, I don't think I could have gone any faster. I was grateful for the respite. Also, I couldn't change onto my 11tooth- user error putting the wheel back on no doubt  so found myself spinning faster for shorter periods than I would have liked. But at least I was able to spin without rocking from side to side now the saddle was lower.
I really like the course, it's fast and very little changing of gears. It suits my little brain!

Bill, I think you would have had a hard time drafting Bob today, due to his sprinting technique ( mostly between 6 and 700 watts) :-)

Yes, you're right. Looking at the power graph it's unlikely I could have drafted Bob. Big average power too Bob
Is that a target you've had painted on your nice blue outfit ?

Nahh, we could have drafted together faster than I can repeatedly sprint . I would have adapted. I hope. When in France recently I was the strongest rider but adapted by taking the lead on our little peloton occasionally dropping back back when someone felt like taking over. It was great fun. And we all benefitted. A bit different when racing though:smile:

If I hadn't painted one on I suspect I have now. Gawd, I am going to have to keep it up:ohmy:^_^

:okay:
What weight Berty?
Just what I was wondering?
I got to elite3 by forgetting (notice the lack of " ") to change my weight back from 56 to 77 kg. However, I had got to elite1 previously by making freakish power while testing stage 1 of the chaingang at my correct weight. Unfortunately I'm 100% sure there was a glitch at the time that gave about an extra 80 watts. An extra 20 or 30 watts and going to Pro4 or 5 would have been much more satisfying as I'd have thought that I was just having a good day.^_^
