I don't know where bkool got that time from it saying the same for me but ive done it 1hr22m @ 150 watts I'm sure u would do that in 1hr20
I've learnt to take some of the suggested times with a pinch of salt. However there are a couple of rides I've done where the times were quite close and their profile was similar to that one.

There were some mighty performances in that velodrome ride I did - as AAAC pointed out earlier, the winner averaged 500 watts for 20 minutes, but the guy who came 4th averaged 440 watts which for him was 7.7 watts per kilo!!

I found this article - http://cyclingtips.com/2009/07/just-how-good-are-these-guys/ - which puts the watts/kg into perspective. Quite interesting - we can all pretend Bkool watts are perfectly accurate (:okay:) and see what level of rider we are after each Bkool ride now
(The guy whose watts were 7.7w/kg is off the scale on the chart in that article, higher than the highest world class cyclist. Which is correct I'm sure :cuppa:)

Those numbers are amazing and like you say beyond some of the world known best riders. That is not to say they are not very talented/blessed with fantastic fitness. Considering Bridgy, you were made to look average in comparison, which isn't the case. The Bkool trainer/fw/sw does seem to enhance the power figure with its calculations. Maybe we should call bkool virtual power (V Watts/Kg)

It will be interesting to see what figures @LBHIFI has collected now he is using a pedal power meter.

For me to improve W/Kg I need to lose 20kg. I think it would be easier to have a sex change and I would jump up a couple of performance categories:biggrin:

Anyone know if there's a Handicap race tonight at 8 ?
If not it's a fat burning ride up d'Huez for me as I've put on a bit of weight lately
What time you thinking of riding @BILL S? I may try and join you - not to race - I too am happy with a steady "fat burning" ride if that's what you mean? Might just be nice to have company!

I am troubled by this. In my minds eye I either see a reubenesque crxandy with moobs or a post sex change crxandy with boobs. Berty, are these the booby's Bill was talking about?

Tonight's Handicap Chase is a special Handicap Climb with adjusted rider weights to equalize Watts/Kg

Session is password protected, password is announced in the main thread as soon as they session is up and running!

Course is The Shelf

The warm-up will start close to 8:00pm BST (UTC+1) to ensure the race starts around 8:10pm BST (UTC+1).

Everyone taking part should adjust their weight to the allocated value before entering the warm up, preferably with at least 5 minutes to go.

Weights are generally reduced, in some cases considerably, to achieve the target Watts/Kg, so speeds should be higher than usual. The main part of the session should not take more than around 20 minutes, and in any case less than 30 minutes, to avoid changing Fitness Levels. Anyone taking longer than 30 minutes would be advised to discard their session without saving.

The Start (for everyone) should be between 8:05 and 8:10, when the warm-up ends.

Once underway, there is a short neutralized zone (0.0625 miles or 0.1 km) to avoid taking advantage of the lowered resistance at start, where no-one is allowed to overtake @JLaw (or if he is not present, you must gradually increase speed to a maximum of 20 mph (32 kph) until you pass the 0.0625 (0.1 km) point.

If anyone else wants to take part, please can you let us know here and we can work out a weight Handicap from your FTP power value or similar.

There is another session running (no idea how they run sessions as league sessions without being in the league group), so will have to use a different password.

I'll post here as soon as up and running!
