Goes in quick enough - I've done the Bkool hour challenge back when Wiggo broke the record the time went in pretty quickly. Its a good workout - just trying to hold at threshold level and not burning out early is the challenge! :heat:
Plenty of drafting to be done!! :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:
I know that the power to speed thing is a little different in the drome. But 28mph/45kmh is beyond my capabilities to hold for more than a few laps, even with drafting :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:.

I'll be aiming for about 23mph/37kmh and a finish time of sub 50 minutes  .

Tonight the Chaingang league starts with 120 laps of the velodrome at 7pm. :bicycle:
There will be the usual 10 minutes warm-up, and to stop random people joining we will have a password : chaingang

So join from the Live tab as usual. If necessary search using the filter. Any issues such as password problems post here. If there is then I'll probably re-start it without a password.

120 laps sounds awfully long. Don't think I've done anything like that before :heat:
Hopefully 40 minutes or so.

Sounds good Bill but it really is too hot and humid in London. I have not been able to leave my loft windows open either because of the threat of thunderstorms later. I will at least start and , err, turn the pedals over  and see how it goes from there but overheating is a real risk.

Everyone note that Bob will be taking it easy tonight so no need to see him as a threat. He'll just be cruising round nice and easy. NOT!!!

Bob! The last time you made a post like this, you went out and won the race.

I have to get it done tonight as I am visiting my brother Saturday. So the 5pm re-run will not happen. I may not go as quick as bob, but I will not be taking it easy   . Unless someone has some virtual 6mm blue rope I can tie round bobs seatpost to add 127kg to his load

Weight shouldn't really matter in the Velodrome, apart from brief amounts of acceleration.

Just POWER!

Wansford, near Peterborough up to Woodhall spa will be quiet flat going over spalding way. Rolling hills start at Sleaford and beyond to Grantham. South from Sleaford it also has rolling hills all the way down to Rutland and across to Belvior.

Spalding and across to Norfolk it is much flatter, suits my heavier frame

How will we know what velodrome ride to look for in the Live tab @BILL S? As it's not actually in the league are you still able to give it a special name?

Perfect weather here this evening for attempting my 42 kph avg goal, 23 °C and no wind at all. Unfortunately my better half decided to go to the movies to watch Bridged Jones this evening, leaving me alone with the kids.
So guess I will have a go at the velodrome instead.

You know, I was just thinking the same - perfect weather here too, but my wife's also gone out and left me with the kids!

It's another advantage of the bkool though - in the past I wouldn't have done a ride at all
