Well, I'd like to say it's good to be back - but at the minute it doesnt feel like it!! :surrender:

Things havent changed much - still getting left behind by Bill LB and Bridgy!! Bridgy, you're much stronger than I remember!!! :notworthy:

Enjoyed that immensely. Eventually managed to tag together with Rob. Competitor spirit at the end there Rob. Nice speed boost when the fast guys flew by and got a draft for a few seconds. Plan from the start was to get off moderately fast and hope to tag on to fast guys after lap one or two. You were just too powerful to keep up with.

Well that was fun NOT! Why is it the simple things that frustrate me the most (press h again) :banghead:
To say that was demoralising is an understatement. After starting late I never passed anybody, you all just passed me. Every now and then I would give a wee spurt when I saw one of you coming up behind but I was never going to maintain any speed like you guys

Well done to you all :highfive:

That went better than expected .............:sweat::heat:. The rockets came past me after just over 2 laps . I thought I was in for a hell of a pasting :boxing::B). But they eventually eased off the power a little and settled down into only passing every 4th or 5th lap :notworthy:. I did try to hook up with Andy and Rob, several times, but could not get the power and speed to sync up with them :cursing:. Paul sorry I had a reasonable flow going, for me, and didn't want to lose it . Maybe next time.

Anyway my time was 44.21 @ 25.4mph from 235.4w. Now time to relax :mrpig:.

Great ride now that it's over but now dreading Saturday. Well done LB for stamping your authority all over it. What got into you? New tyres? 200 psi?
Bridgy, you made it clear to me that there was no way you'd let me catch you as you reacted every time I tried to take some time out of you. And thanks Bob for the drafting although you were a bit quick at times:smile:.
When you guys set of at the start you were too quick for me and couldn't even stay in your draft for more than a lap or two. I had to drop back but was glad to see you didn't keep that kind of speed up. Well maybe LB did.:notworthy:

it was good to have a bit of a draft of you helps to save the legs a bit its just no let up it constant go unlike the other stages when u can have a little breather on the decents

It looks like I have actually become one of the graded people on here. My latest improvement on ftp from tonights velo stage has taken me to 1.84w/kg. This puts me on the bkool ratings table @ amateur 1 :wahhey:. Thats it folks I am now officially on the ladder next step amateur 2

Looking at the results, averages suggest the kickr is speed hindered by 2.5mph or bkool trainer are speed enhanced . Weight shouldn't alter anything but I will play around with this ride and see if altering my weight has an effect.

Might be worth sending Bkool admin this race for future software update s

What got into you? New tyres? 200 psi?
- 140 psi, the highest I have ever put in the tires for a bkool ride.
- Not having to fiddle too much with the gears suits me really well.
- Really feeling the draft effect, which I never do in non-velodrome rides. In fact, it looked like you all didn't have the same drastic effect as I did.

It's a very different dynamic in the velodrome. When I got a lap ahead of you it was still showing as only 15-20 seconds - a gap that would probably be much easier to claw back on a normal ride, but in the velodrome of course I could keep an eye on you if you came past and react. With the drafting effect as well it would have taken a hell of an effort for you to get that lap back with us being quite closely matched

Sounds like I missed a great race. The weather hear was lovely so ventured out with the club. 10 miles up the road was thunder, lightning and torrential rain. It also got dark very quick with big grey clouds overhead. Got back to the start and the roads were still dry. I'll have to fit in the session early next week.
