Just noticed that @ryan took 54 mins to complete tonights ride at a power of 5.26 watts/kg .... Looks like IF I complete the stage tonight it will be after a 2 hour plus sweat fest :heat: with feelings of xx( thrown in :banghead: See you all on the start line ... won't be seeing many of you after that as you'll all be off in the distance :bicycle:

If anyone wants to draft with me tonight at the back of the race, feel free to help me :hugs::whistle:
A trundle @22-23mph in a draft should be good . Over that and I'll go bang after about 30 minutes :surrender:

Hi Geoff

thanks for analysing my data without laughing.. lord my legs were rubbish.. still like custard now..

I did set my weight to your suggestion however.....:whistle::whistle: I didn't reset the sim..

ill get it right next time..

cheers

Jim, I could never laugh at 240 watts average for 20 odd minutes, that's far better than I was when I started with bkool, and much better than I can manage now after 15 months off and having to keep my heart rate below around 150 bpm.

If I ever get back to within spitting distance of you guys and can still keep my heart rate safe, I might be able to join the back of the chain gang one day! I'm just not sure I'll get much stronger if I can't train any harder.

It's interesting comparing power figures (from a powertap hub) on outdoor rides to those from bkool, they are much lower as there are inevitably loads of soft pedaling and free-wheeling bits on the slight dips and descents, so it's really only the climbs where there is a real comparison.

On a 4-5 minute climb I've built it back up from around 110 (real) Watts to just over 150 (real) watts. As soon as I try and put out any more power my heart rate shoots past my self imposed limit and I have to back off to a crawl.

I watched the handicap on Tuesday and checked out the heart rates you guys were putting out for the power figures showing, and almost everyone was well into the 160's and 170's, which I can't risk anymore. @Goldwolfie was the only one within my limit at 149 bpm and a very impressive 253 Watts.

Average heart rate 136, average (bkool) power 231 Watts!

It is now my ambition to emulate Goldwolfie!

You call that a trundle?!? I was thinking more like 30kph/19mph max, probably more likely 28kph. I only manage 23mph/37kph on the velodrome rides and they I feel are being generous to me.

I guess we'll see tonight but 40km at 29kph and I'm expecting to take about 1.5 hours at best tonight.

Sounds like with these missing rides it might be worth noting your time at the end or taking a screenshot just in case!

@CXRAndy I see you rode Chapel Fell again on a bkool pro. Looks like your were credited much the same power but went 1 minute faster than on the KICKR!

That's right Geoff. On conditional loan. Tried to keep roughly same effort to see if speed and time varied. Its an odd sensation going onto the Pro from the kickr. Seems easier but isnt:wacko:

Let see what tonight brings!

I'm going to ride the velodrome again to see what results I get

A good tip, courtesy of AAAC is to change your Bkool name to - for example - "Jim45kg" when you change it in your profile on the website. It then acts as a reminder when you're logged in to Bsim that you have set the right weight, and also as a reminder to change it back afterwards

Wot woz that 'kin session called " 'kin cruise!"
I died a thousand deaths.
Well done LB, I only hope you were trying!
Well done indeed LBHIFI! And everyone else - that was hard! I couldn't stay with you Bill and LBHIFI today - so agonizing when you get dropped from a drafting group like that!

Even more agonizing when you cant even get onto the drafting group!! :B)

I hit an airbrake in the first 20 or so seconds, everyone went past me and couldnt get back with the lead group.. Not that I would have stayed with you guys anyway - far higher watts than me these days. :shy:
