Bob, I found in the velodrome, weight hardly played a part, I did several runs whilst on my Kickr normal 95kg and one at 80kg. Only 1 min difference due to an extra 10watts average effort. I then did the velodrome on the bkool pro with latest firmware and went significantly faster(2.5mph faster), also recorded a good 40 Watts from the bkool pro.

Bob result should stand for a flat course:okay:

Agreed it's probably a different algorithm so could be F/W S/W and lets face it, the differences were a huge problem in the Summer Cup this year. Weight does seem to make a significant difference though as proved by Bob on his recent two runs.
I'm not really sure. It would be really interesting to see Bob do that stage with an normal weight.

Ok I agree to a 3 minute credit against your next chaingang ride. You will have to start when the countdown is at three minutes so you get a head start on the rest of us. Hope that's satisfactory.

Bill sir, you are a gentleman. I have no idea why the admins get such a bad rep on here:whistle:
Also, it might even be fun seeing how long it is before the pack hunts me down and hauls me in-especially at my "new"weight:laugh:

Try and find a completely flat session and hold it at 200 watt (I have one here: http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/735556?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1) and remember not to allow bots and ghosts (in the BSim session setup) as the drafing will obscure the result.
Ok, I will do this.

I never considered weight as a factor but, based on the discussion here, it appears to be somewhat significant. My body weight is correct, but should I include the bicycle as well?

Oh no. That could start a drive for more expensive lighter bikes. Or because there is no way to check up, a series of one up upmanship lies. Example..DTN (dude that's nothing)....I myself am riding a Rodriguez outlaw sub 15 pounds.

No need Scott, Bkool applies a weight for the bike so we are all on a level riding course.

I'm carrying enough weight as it is. Adding the weight of the bike would not do me any more favours :headshake:

I've just checked the scheduling for the chaingang rides. I am in two minds about what I have found . The finish date for stage 3 is the 29th. That means there is no excuse for not doing it. But owing to my on call this week I am going to be a bit time cramped fitting it in as well as the other rides . I think I need to MTFU and just get them done where I can .

I totally agree with your last sentence there TB. Good for you!

I wish I did it a my proper weight.
I was killing myself keeping up with Bob and then noticed what my name said on the leader board in the top left corner but it was a little late to start again and I had left a lot on the road already!
What a schoolboy error.

Your performance seems as good as ever with the new trainer AAAC. Does it feel any difference? Although you may prefer to wait until you punch in your correct weight before commenting.

I had a dead stop on the 8% near the end (your be pleased to hear that)
My speed decreases more quickly when climbing.
Other than that I am not feeling anything too different other than less noise from the bearings.
However this has also lead me to realise that my BB is probably a little rough, I have a GPX BB and they are renowned for not being very durable.
Low % descents still feel harder than flats or low % ascents.
A lot of this session was -0.0% which means it was downhill but less than -0.05% me thinks and it just felt so much harder.
Not sure how this all screwed up my watts calculation but my average watts are a little high.
My heart is still aching from the effort so I guess I may have overdone it a bit.
