I just didn't expect boxers to be quite so fast downhill:angry:^_^ I gave chase as he passed me and no amount of spinning in top gear could get me anywhere near him. He was gaining on bridgy who is probably fastest downhill but at that point was going up to escape LB.
At times like that i really wish i could click on a rider and see what is happening ala Zwift.

Boxers was really motoring downhill, I caught a little of it on the recording!

Obviously down to great aero positioning, flat back, etc..

sssssssssssssso was there 2 races as i put in chase ?
Well you were definitely in the right race, as you're on the video!

We've had this before when the password's been changed - "chase" still seems to work for some reason (as well as the new password)

Yes, the same old thing happened again which is why we had a later start. I started the ride from the leagues tab but when I got into it, it was already running, with a rider who's name I can't remember. I went back into the ride hoping that changing the password would fix it but it was the same even with the password changed. Next time I found a different version of the ride in the leagues tab and used that instead with the new password and that worked.

Might try a hiit session tonight on the velo. Set at 10k distance. 2 laps warm up, then 1 sprint lap followed by 2 rest laps. See how xx( I can make myself. Be on about 6 if anyone wants to join :okay:

You really want to do HIIT on your own, so you can concentrate on interval and not anyone else. Also for the first 2 intervals, don't go to maximum effort.
Say 1st interval 75% max effort. 2nd 85% max effort. 3rd greater than 95% max effort. Its quite a shock to the system if you go flat out from the off.

Quality of interval is more important than the number if intervals. You will quickly see when you can't hold the power, that's the point to end the session and cool down

Whow Berty, just noticed your watt/kg rate. You could take on Ryan in the Mountain Goat league.
why thank you very much sir but i think it is only because bkool has changed something to give more on flat than up hill - i hope Mr brown studies all the numbers as thoroughly and is lenient with me cos although bkool said 85% - strava had it at 120% and i beat me best time by 22 seconds so i certainly didn't have another 15% tucked away somewhere
hadn't thought about mountain goats since i got my knee back - might dip a toe in and see what its like - is there any way i can see a stage without joining league as i dont want to mess anyone about if i dont do any - like what happened last time i joined

The first is twice as long and took @Whorty 2+ hours to do, I would like to join, but 2 hours,
With your superpowers should only take you 10 minutes  go on, have a go. It's lovely lol

LIVING THE DREAM
I wouldn't have thought any of us would atually threaden Ryan, the real mountain goat :notworthy:.
I struggle to find watts in the goats league, but unfortunately I think they reflect reality more than the Chaingang rides.
We'll see - Going to try out some Gran Canarain mountains soon, and I plan to bring my power pedals.

Ryan is a lightweight, literally not in drinking terms, and he lives in the mountains so it should rightly be his speciality.
Perhaps he uses a bike in the winter instead of a ski lift to hone his gift!
