I'm going to try. Got the wife's permission and booked a room at the metropole. Now I just need to get in shape and pay off the credit card. The way Breedon got a new bike thrown in on the deal is an inspiration.
Sure in 2018 we could all meet in Sitka and ride the 14 miles of paved roads. Not a double devil but a single imp maybe.
When this whole event was first introduced there was some loose talk about a seafood paella. With this many possibly showing up how big is your pot?
If we can stick to 3 prawns each a tapas size portion apiece may well be achievable.

And a 14 mile sportive sounds perfect, much less damning than what is being discussed here.

Randy didn't mention it's 14 miles being chased by a hungry bear!

Add it looks like the metropole is completely booked up for that weekend. In a blind panic a took the last room but it's meant for a family of four!

I may have to look at other options.

Tommy if I get permission to attend and if you don't mind sharing I'll take up some space in the room.

Lots if lilly livered men here asking permission from HID. I said i was going on a bike trip, she said fine:tongue:

She did mention about she needed new shoes, dress, jewellery from London

I've got 5 days cycling in Mallorca at the end of March, Velothon Berlin in June, both without her. Now I need to say I'm away for a weekend of riding with 10+ blokes from an internet forum who i've never met, but have exchanged heavy breathing with some over teamspeak, and who'll for some of the time be dressed in tight fitting black atire, somewhere in Wales. I think i'll need more than shoes, dress and jewellery to make it up to her.....

Morning all,

I've just checked the results on Bkool and there are only three listed.
Is it another bug?

I almost certainly need to approve some of the rides before they show up! I got back late last night, I'll get onto it asap!

Sounds like a good run, but not sure we have enough for the ttt yet?

So, this DD, has everyone actually signed up? This thread is too long to check. I think Bill has foolishly offered me a lift previously:hugs:If i have that right bill, then you likley staying with Adds but when are you planning on returning to London? Looks like i might have to try and cajole TT and Kipster into letting me share their increasingly small family room!

It was great Geoff thanks - some teething problems with inputting the password though.

The new sim tells you you've input it incorrectly when you first click on the ride to join, before even giving you the option of putting it in! I went back out and in again and then had the option of putting the password in, which finally worked. But particularly as we have to look for time elapsed before clicking on the ride or inputting password etc now, there was quite a delay getting into the ride at the correct time - we'll have to think of a way to improve this for next time as it will muck up your carefully calculated start times unless you're one of the first starters!

Bob, I have paid up this morning for the ride 121miles, but will decide en-route actual distance. I have a room at the Metropole booked (can cancel if we all get in somewhere else)

This is the latest list of crazies!
CXRAndy 60 or 95
Theboxers 60 or 95
Turbotommy 95 or 121
Breedon 95 or 121
Whorty 60 or 95
Soarerv8 60 or 95
Adski 10 or 121
Bridgy 121
Kipster 95 or 121 (provisional as need to check calendar and spoil wife as i'm supposed to being doing Velothon Berlin on the 18th)

Note, Bridgy has weekend conflict, Bill hasn't officially confirmed, and Adam is so unfit, he's unable to ride  Randy, he arranging passage from distant lands
Note 2 Adam has friends in high places at the Metropole so may be able to do something, no pressure ;)

Yes, I think as things stand we will have to ditch the password and just filter out any interlopers from the results.

Once we get nearer 20 riders we can shift to the Team format, but for now I guess we can carry on these qualifying sessions so everyone has a chance to set a couple of times.
