I'm sure it'll be fine Berty, cheapest pint in town which is a plus, and an eat as much as you can Chinese Buffet. Let's face it, it's just a bed your after, we're not in this for the clubbing are we?

Nah! If you want clubbing go to Hundred House.
If my In-Laws were still there we could all have stayed in their kennels with free breakfast and a shower, dog food and a house. Ablutions were en-suite as well.

OK, I am unsure what to book. I want to be all conquering and go for the 121, like most appear to be doing. But know in my head the 60 should be the one to do. I think I'll split the difference and go for the 95 and bail onto the 60 if push comes to xx(.

Can we get a list going of who has booked what distance. I don't want to be alone when attempting this .

Bloody hell, stop typing so many messages. Struggling to keep up. Right, I haven't been to the Metropole yet to speak to the manager. I only know him through the running club, he's not a best buddy or anything and to be honest, if it's fully booked, I can't really ask him to reduce the rates, as he has no reason to does he?
BUT, he is very pleasant, and I'm sure sharing rooms won't be a problem, and when I know what I have to ask exactly, I am more than happy to go and speak to him.
The Commodore is only a stones throw away, and I'm sure it will be ok, never stayed, nor know anyone that has, but I have plastered a wall in there!
The campsite is halfway between my house and the Metropole, and if you let me know who would like to stay there I will sort that, as it is my brother in laws place. The campsite is fine, decent showers etc, some hard standings and electric if you want it.
I am happy for someone to sleep in my caravan if they like, but I would only recommend one in there as the bunk beds are small. Can sleep in it on the drive, or I can tow it to the campsite if there's lots of folks staying there.
I am more than happy to help in any way I can.
Campsite for me then - if you could sort that out @Add that would be rather kind, thanks :okay: I'll bring my van and a tent - depends on the weather whether I sleep in the tent or van :sun:

Really looking forward to this - be great to meet you guys and do a real ride. That reminds me, not actually ridden outside for over a year so better get some real rides in between now and then to make sure I can still ride the bike

TB. I have booked the 121 miles. I will decide actually enroute how I feel and will divert to lesser distance if feeling sub par

Ok, no more than £10 a pitch at the campsite, £3 if you want electric. Sister in law is here now. Let me know who wants a pitch, as it's a bank holiday they tend to get busy.

I switched to a shorter route the first year....it's simple enough, and well signed. I too will be gauging fitness en route! Since they are all the same price it makes it simple enough really. The organisers are really obliging too.

Same as me - the cost didn't seem that different so I spent a little extra just to give me options. I'd love to think I could do the 121, but as there are so many of us now and promises of beer after the ride, I'll be probably go the shorter so I'm not late to the bar
