But I drafted for a good bit of that  I need all the help I can get- we cannot all go it alone like Tony "Bridgy" Martin :notworthy:
Haha! I wish!

Should be fun tonight whatever happens - although I do have traumatic memories of my brand new Bkool Pro trainer imploding on Alpe d'Huez on about my 4th ride on it! When my replacement arrived 2 weeks later (my current one) the first ride I did was Alpe d'Huez, and I think that's the last time I did it in full!

It'd be like watching paint dry! ;)
I have trouble getting above 150. So I live that statement most of the time time. I can only get higher, for me, heart rates in shorter sessions. I am then shot.

It is part of the reason I am starting in on the HIIT sessions. I need to find a way to move forward as I am stuck on a power level at the moment.

I'm interested to see what an extra 15-20 kg does to my speed compared to you lightweights.
Tommy, Boxers, me and anyone 90+kg are going to get a kicking
I'm only 83kg, but at 5ft 8in i'm about 2 stone overweight so hills are still an issue. Short legs don't help either :surrender: Thinking about it, maybe I'm not overweight, I'm undertall

edit: fixed - thanks TB :okay:

Any chance a kindly admin can approve my Gowerton Start ride from last night please? I want to use this as an excuse for my slow ride tonight  Last time I rode d'huez I managed it in 1hr 11 mins .... not sure I'll be doing it that quickly tonight :heat:

Hoping to join today -- does warm-up start a 7pm your time, or is that actual race time?

Looking back to last year, I did Huez 3 times (in a week). 1:21, 1:19, 1:23. I was trying to sort out a discrepancy between the elapsed time on my screen and the final recorded time. Not 100% sure it got sorted out, so it'll be interesting to check on that a year later in addition to judging my own changes in fitness/strength.

As for the re-run on Saturday, I wont be able to do it as I'll be out. I was going to suggest we do the Mountain Goat Ventoux ride instead for that so we could try to get all the stages done. Is anyone doing Ventoux on Sunday? I think @theboxers said something about doing it. I'll be looking at doing a fairly leisurely pace just to get the stage done and would rather do it with company than be suffering alone. Maybe we could get a few to do it. Time?
I can do Sunday or Saturday so which ever is best for everyone

Well I did my first bkool session in 18 months, trying to keep my heart rate to 150 bpm or below, and was shocked by how little power I could develop before reaching 150! I was a little anxious, bearing in what happened last time I bkool'ed so I guess my heart rate was probably a little higher than it should be, but I'm going to have to much improve my leg strength if I'm going to get anywhere near the back of the chain gang!

Still, I have a baseline now, and I can challenge my own ghost and work on slowly improving my strength over the winter. From watching you guys, I should be able to do more within that heart rate limit, it's just hard to train without exertion, so I expect it will be slow progress. I've lost a few kg over the summer, but still have a few more to go to reach my ideal weight, which should help a little on the climbs.

Since I hadn't ridden bkool at all, I'd retained my Active 9 fitness level, but that was busted last night!
