Going to be an interesting ride and all to play for. You went up 4 minutes on goat 1, we had the same time goat 2, and i gained 2 mins back goat 3.@Whorty - our overall times are very tight going into stage 4 (goat league), I certainly had a lot more motivation chasing your ghost.

Just looked at the times and we're not that far apart - only just over a minute between us. May have been slightly easier for me on the night as we had an interloper who I was fighting to stay ahead of and that's probably where my extra came from.Cheers Whortmeister.. you still beat me with your 2 minute handicap... well done... I can't live with your gains at the moment.

Just noticed that Goat 4 is a longish one too at 13.5 km. Plenty distance to gain those 2 minutes LOL
Yeah, it's those smaller gradients that I'm struggling with. I need to learn to keep power and speed on the 3 to 6% gradients. Just can't work out how to cycle fast on those sections.If stage 4 is anything as steep as stage 3, victory is yours... - my advantage on stage 1 was the first part of the climb, the 2nd part you were reeling in on my time.
I must be either weak legged or weak willed. That workout, VO2 max 9, was just too much for me. I just about made 30 minutes

I must be slightly off in health terms as I just can't seem to get going,. I may need to do some low level longish sessions to get myself up and running again. Any time I try to put out highish power, for me, I just hit a wall and go down hill from there.

The one I use is to over do it on the weekend rides and then struggle to get in a few easy rides during the week. At the same time eating even more because I feel I deserve it a a reward for riding. It isn't very effective training but very popular.Is there anywhere which describes all the different training sessions available and what they entail?
Yes, that's the one. My live time in the chain gang ride was quicker than what ended up in my saved activity.Do you mean this comment:
