Widdersbel, when I joined Bkool, I pottered around for a few months thinking I was okay. I then joined cyclechat leagues. One phrase, ‘dumb founded‘. I couldn't believe the pace and speed the others had over me. I wasn't able to start as fast, I would get destroyed on anything but downhills. Keep at it, and you will be surprised how quickly you become stronger and faster.

At what point should you start to worry? :hyper:

At 56 rushing towards 57 and someone who has heart disease I'm just happy to have a heart rate.
Edit: Beat me to it Bazzer

Having heart stents fitted and taking up indoor cycling has re-invented my life.
I spent too many years after my first angina attack (as I subsequently found out that's what it was) just being careful not to overdo anything.
At the time we had a drug dealer living behind us who we often had verbal battles with.
I lived in constant fear of what might happen if it developed into something more physical.
Shame he was moved on before I got my heart fit again!
Edit: But life is a lot better now he has gone.

I'm not sure where they get the base from but under your profile there is a heart rate zone chart. It is not based on age because I'll be joining Jonbon and Goldwolfie in 3 months
