Might also be a response to this somewhat unfair review on the Facebook Zwift page, a somewhat large group too;
A testament to the impressive speed that Zwift and Zwift HQ are doing their work is simply in their 'competitors'.
The trainer I bought has software that I can purchase separately to use. Reviews and screenshots look awful so I've never tried it. However, I was curious and wanted to try BKool's software. I had no intention of replacing Zwift, but I thought it would be something 'extra' to break things up a bit. It's a long winter and despite the diligent work by the Zwift team, there's only so much 'variety' in the current iteration of Zwift.
My experience with the BKool software was atrocious. Not only is it difficult to use (You have to go to a website to select your course and THEN open up the software), many of the advertised features are cryptic and how to use them isn't even listed in the instruction manual; some actually require talking to support to enable them (how insane is that?) The software frequently crashes, and in the end it's just a poor experience and sub-par to Zwift in every way. I expected the latter, but I just thought it would be something 'different' once in a while. For the same $10 a month, I can get a really polished experience with Zwift. BKool was essentially unplayable.
If anything, this is evidence of why the Zwift team isn't rushing to cram tons of features onto their product. Everything they have works, and usually works really well. So kudos to them!
EDIT: AND I should mention, BKool has been around a lot longer than Zwift! The speed at which they are producing the best indoor cycling product on the market is brilliant.
I will post a more positive response a little later. I really hope this is not a desperate act by bkool- we need them to survive but they also need to be more responsive to user input and requests!
