Last day of excess Christmas and Travel today. Bike will be re-instated in the back room tomorrow and I am planning to complete the Chaingang.
Not sure that I will be a match for DP after 2 days of Champagne, Wine, Whiskey and eating out.
You will kill my time aaac. I had a dodgy tummy and torn back muscles so pretty much conked out around 3/4 distance. Just follow my ride and 700m to 450 m from the end there is a 6% incline you can nail and gain more than 3.6 seconds without any fuss.

DP. That 6℅ is a killer, it just goes on for 10 seconds too long. I think AAAC will have a task, I held you to under 2 mins before the course started to descend, your weight and power advantage allowed to to gain a further minute and half.

Thing is though I was not in a good condition for my run and aaac even in a sorry state will be able to keep up. I really relaxed on the downhills so the gap would not open up as aaac could get assistance in my slipstream and nail the ending. TBH I nearly gave up I felt so bad.

We should be thankful for poor form,
Talking of poor form I tried my first park run today... my quads are killing me. First run in 1 1/2 years so new years resolution is to warm down and stretch after each ride. I can't believe how tight my muscles are I can now hardly walk downstairs!
On the plus side all the cycling meant cardiovascular had no problems at all. I couldn't say that 9 months ago!

Im starting my running up again from tomorrow goal is 250 miles running in a year and able to run 10 miles non stop within 5 months that should also help with the chaingang rides i find it tough to balance the cycling and running

I'm not sure running helps cycling but I'm not really qualified to give a conclusive opinion. I've had conversations with a guy who was making the transition from competitive cycling to triathalon and he felt it was more a compromise than compliment but that doesn't mean they're oil and water. Not trying to knock anyone getting involved in running. Thinking about it I had my fill of running when I was doing boxing in my teens so I'm also probably naturally biased.

Personally I don't like running although the park run was OK. For me it's another way to use my legs and should confuse my metabolism to hopefully lose a bit more weight.

Defo can't knock it as a way for burning calories or building cardio. If park run implies you're running on soft ground rather than tarmac that's a big positive too.
