Hi, i think the latter is the best as most people use there power pedals with there garmin i thi

So your basically saying we're going to be  andxx( if we do well.
Sounds like fun sign me up!!!
Basically Breedon, if I were you start off uphill fast to get a lead for the initial downhills and speed up as the peleton catches you up on the downhill. Stay with them until the uphill starts for lap 2. You should do well on this course. No pain no gain...

Just died on my arse on the 2nd stage. I knew I was in big trouble going up the second hill.... might be time to adjust my expectations slightly...
I think you need to be really well rested to get a good time on a stage like that. If you're like me you would need about 3 days without riding to put in your best time. That was another one that I felt totally destroyed after, which unfortunately seems to be the case with any of the Winter/Summer cup rides as the competition is so tough, and anyone not Cyclechat is the enemy. :boxing::B):cycle::ninja:

It was good to be back racing again! Bill, I owe you an apology for charging past you instead of joining up for a bit of welcome drafting. Genuine reason for this was I mis-Interpreted the rider graphic and thought DP was bearing down on me, when in fact I was looking at me catching You! I only realised this when DP - who turned out to be spectating - sent me a message pointing out I was being a bit ruthless in powering past you like that!
It was good to have you back Paul. I thought for a short time, mostly on that first hill, that I might hold you off, but looking at the recording later, it was apparent that you were taking it easy at that point and you unleashed the power later on, which I had no chance in matching. I must have been only a gnats chuff from getting into your slip-steam when you passed though, but doubt I could have held on. Must try a different strategy next time.

Agree with you both

Looking at my time it puts me within my target (just), but I was a little disappointed how little I had in my legs power wise today.

I suppose I was aiming to be close to you two but yourselves and kipster (belting effort!), were far too good for me. You really did blow me away :notworthy:. It had occurred to me that for me to do my best in the league I'd probably need more rest between stages but I think that would be to the decrement of my main targets for this year.

Thanks Bill. I wasn't really holding back at the start - my HR gives that away! The current Bkool software just doesn't show very high watts on shallow inclines however hard I'm trying, but it does show much higher watts when pushing equally hard on shallow declines - for me anyway!

Also, I know it looks like I'm doing everything to prevent you drafting me but in reality I was thinking about a non existent DP catching me up and didn't want to back off for a second. Also, the point I passed you coincided with the start of a decline where I started spinning as fast as possible to get my speed as high as I could before taking a breather. If I'd been paying proper attention and hadn't thought DP was there I definitely would have drafted with you for a bit and we both would probably have benefited!

Just see these in case anyone interested;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Status-SREMSOC-Remote-Control-Socket/dp/B007Y7D8Z6

My loft is too cold to run a fan until I have properly warmed up and then I have to stop and stretch to reach the fan switch but this should make it easier. 3 packs available too.
I use one of those for my fan for the same reasons - very handy. (Also very useful for things like Xmas lights when the plug's tucked away in an awkward place)

Great idea Bob. I think AAAC suggested something similar a while back for the same reason.

I'm banned from spending right now though and have the same problem with the cold in my loft so I think I've come up with an old fashioned work around using an old extension lead and some tape. Instead of hitting a remote control button I'll have to reach out and push a plug into a socket on the table next to my laptop. I think reliability will be guaranteed

Did think that, might give the stage a recce tonight, to see how balls deep i need to go going up, that's the easy bit for me it's the downs thats the real killer.

Just depends how long the hill is and how far ahead you can get before the fatties catch up:smile:. I remember a previous chaingang, I had over 5 mins advantage over Berty going into last leg and lost it all and more due to being slow up long hills

I would just see how long the first 4.9km takes as this is 1 lap. You can then see what your speed uphill looks like against my recce. The downhill would be quicker as you will pick up a tow. See if you can challenge my quarter race attempt to give yourself an idea.
