Well, I've given up on the idea of setting up a league for the Handicap this week, as the bkool site is down every time I try it.

I think we should be alright to just start a session on stage 1 of the NC trials chain gang, and see how we get on.

If we start a warm up at 6:50 or so, to start the Handicap at 7pm, plus whatever handicap you are awarded, who is willing to give it a try, bkool allowing, tomorrow evening? The handicap gets better as they are refined, so getting a few sessions under our belt would be a good thing.

Let me know who's in and I'll draw up a list of handicaps.

Cheers,

Geoff

I hope to be there Uncle Geoff. Beige :shy:

I really don't understand the allegiance to Bkool. It really is a poor platform with its bugs and with what seems regular SIM crashes for days. Why don't those who haven't tried another platform, sign upto one for a month, give it good go to gather experience and then have a direct comparison with Bkool There are plenty of excellent training platforms to have a go at
I've used Zwift on and off for about a year now, but I always end up coming back to Bkool as I personally (my personal view) find riding the same courses on Zwift a bit dull. Zwift racing is good, but I prefer to race the same people each week as this is where/how I like to compare my own progress and, ironically, due to the high number of racers on Zwift I don't recognise anyone  I really did enjoy the race you and I had the other day so if we could get the CCers over to Zwift, and we chose the same races each week this could be fun.

I like the leagues in Bkool which no one else really does, although Keith's spreadsheet can replicate that so that USP is now going/gone
I like racing ghosts - gives me something to chase when I'm on my own. If BRVR had the concept of ghosts then that would be another Bkool USP gone
I like that I can choose a flat course, rolling course, downhill, hilly, Velodrome in Bkool. BRVR has hills and rolling by the looks of it but no flat. Although, someone did suggest you can create your own 'course' by stitching bits of others together so that might be the way to go. Need to check that out.

I'm certainly not tied to BKool. I've tried to leave twice but drift back due to, as I say, Zwift not being able to hold my attention as the same courses all the time are just a bit dull.

Maybe the way to go is BRVR and Zwift ... but only if we all go Zwift for the racing as that's what I really love :okay:

Bkool is next to dead in the water I'm afraid. So much potential, just run by idiots.

BRVR Does have ghosts ... Well you can pick up to 7 others plus a pacer to ride against. OK they don't show up in the video, but do on the profile, and you can see your position, time difference (and W/Kg output) I usually set a pacer to the Average watts I want to ride at, and then a few riders around the time for the route which gives me something to chase if I'm that way inclined.

Didn't know that ... I set a pacer yesterday but didn't know I could choose others :okay: I need to dig about more in BRVR

Pauk@kipster found and setup a timed league of courses and segments, which works very well so far. We have a period of time to put our best effort in. This could be easily setup to run a full course like 3sisters, road to ruins or flat London courses. Races are run regularly each week on at least one of the courses so the event could be publicised, Cyclechat riders could turn up and do it live or if they can't do it then join in another event or even solo and use riders on course to help with their effort. It's not difficult, it only needs a willingness by some on Bkool to give it go and patience to settle into a new platform.

That’s pretty bad luck TB. one of the guys I work with sneezed and put his back out a few months ago. But yawning definitely tops that... have you ever tried using one of those tennis balls sized, massage balls? They’re excellent.

My back can be bad but christ TB that is bad

Hope you start to feel better after a nights sleep. My back last year finally went ping just standing up from a dining room chair... from those ive spoken to it is the most innocuous of things that put backs out!
The annoying thing is, after 35 years of problems, I can normally tell about 2 to 3 days before that my back is going to lock up properly. I get little pre lockups where my back goes tight and stiff but not imobolising, I can then hopefully get an Osteopath appointment before it fully goes. I didn't get that today.

I did  at the absurdity of the situation though. A yawn  a simple little non strenuous yawn  left me squealling in pain and unable to move :B):surrender:.

Now feeling better, if a bit sore, after the Osteopath. A ride free day today :cursing:, back on it tomorrow :bicycle:

Hi all, been keeping an eye on the forum and see things are going downhill fast with Bkool. The reason I came back was the ability to set up a ride for a time that suits me and add ghosts to chase so if BRVR has this it may an option.
Did someone mention that it's all hills though?

My issue with Zwift was that you could only join scheduled races and not add ghosts etc. At the minute I like to get straight into the house after work and get on the bike.
