Now my trainer has paired and everything is back again
I really don't understand the allegiance to Bkool. It really is a poor platform with its bugs and with what seems regular SIM crashes for days. Why don't those who haven't tried another platform, sign upto one for a month, give it good go to gather experience and then have a direct comparison with Bkool There are plenty of excellent training platforms to have a go at

The allegiance is dying so we are branching out as a group to look for a Cyclechat alternative.
You never know we might even invite you to join us.
Sadly we are a bunch of Luddites so moving is collectively hard.

Ahh feck :cursing: :cursing:. I've found some inventive ways of putting my back out but this morning was something entirely new. I was sitting on a chair not twisting or turning waiting for a piece of test equipment to finish turning on when I yawned . Just a simple yawn, not a full body arm stretching yawn, just head slightly back mouth open yawn.

My back then decides nope. You shouldn't be doing that and locks up. Can't lean forward to stand or back to relax. I'm stuck there waiting for my back to release enough to allow me to move, it takes about 10 minutes.

I've just got home from the osteopath feeling battered and bruised but flexible and back pain free. I may have to skip the sessions tonight though :cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing:.
My back can be bad but christ TB that is bad

Andy,
In my case its a little bit of the devil you know, but I think deep down I just think that if only they could get it sorted pout it would be the best. It would give me everything I wanted in one platform and perhaps that is the problem, that they are trying to do everything. Video - better on Bigring but no flat rides or leagues, Racing - better (I hear) on zwift but no video or leagues?, Rouvy appears not to have 3D which I'm now enjoying in races or leagues for sure. I'm sure those who have a wider knowledge could fill in what the other trainers don't have that bkool has, when it works. That said it is getting to the point for me where reliability is becoming much more important, hence my investigation of rouvy. If it can reliably gives us 90% of what we want and we can live without the other 10% and do work rounds for what it doesn't have then I won't be renewing in September.
Hope this helps, what is wonderful here is the camaraderie, which hopefully will always be there no matter the platform we end up on.

I dont think not having 3D would make that much diffrence, it certainly wouldn't me anyway, but i do agree with every thing you said

This is an excellent summary for me.

I've been on Bkool for about 15 months, didn't really use it much last summer and only joined the Bkool winter league and Cycle Chat group and leagues late last year.

So, my experience of Bkool glitches is far less than people on here, but I have seen first hand the frozen videos, I've started to get frustrated by the length of time that League rides take to get updated and was quite amazed by the poor performance of the Bsim and appalling customer communication over the weekend.

The thing is that when it works, it seems to have the potential to be ahead of all its rivals with the varied options is offers. Whether it manages to live for long enough to deliver on that seems to be becoming a bigger and bigger issue.

I have a number of friends on Zwift, but have resisted the urge to try it out as it feels just a little restricted on routes and maybe a little too race oriented and serious. But maybe that's wrong and I really should try it out.

Whether its Zwift, Rouvy, BigRing or anything else, the first thing has to be reliability and good customer support, and if Bkool can't fix this, despite its obvious potential, then it will die.

Hope you start to feel better after a nights sleep. My back last year finally went ping just standing up from a dining room chair... from those ive spoken to it is the most innocuous of things that put backs out!

Well, I've given up on the idea of setting up a league for the Handicap this week, as the bkool site is down every time I try it.

I think we should be alright to just start a session on stage 1 of the NC trials chain gang, and see how we get on.

If we start a warm up at 6:50 or so, to start the Handicap at 7pm, plus whatever handicap you are awarded, who is willing to give it a try, bkool allowing, tomorrow evening? The handicap gets better as they are refined, so getting a few sessions under our belt would be a good thing.

Let me know who's in and I'll draw up a list of handicaps.

Cheers,

Geoff

Sounds great Geoff. Bear in mind my bad back and dodgy leg and my last run was done when high on salbutamol.... @Whorty made me do it honest... so I should be given far more time than @AAAC 76C and @bridgy. As for @TurboTommy he should be given a 10 minute penalty for drinking rocket fuel...

For me variety of routes is important, The ability to ride routes I've recorded again (easily) is also required. I'm really into the endurance side of things, so racing is not all that important, but doing long (80Km+ rides) rides is. BRVR comes close to fulfilling all my requirements, I'd just like them to do long routes, or routes split into several parts that join up. The good thing about BRVR is that I can take the video and GPX files I've paired with Virb Edit and it will run. no need to attempt to put it through a cropper and resizer to get it below 2.5Gb
