You need to take BSim watts with a pinch of salt when league racing and just 'ride by the seat of your pants' as they say.
Use your HR to judge your effort if you must and if you find yourself floating over some of the shorter climbs just accept it is a BSim anomaly.
@bridgy and I were loping along at Pro Peloton speeds all be it he seemed to loose watts on the climbs and thrived on the flats.

I had a go at sprinting the whole final climb but was a little ambitious and launched my effort too early and hit a brick wall pretty much cooked with a few hundred meters to go.

Well done all partakers and especially you @perswe. I kept looking up at the board expecting to see the 3rd slot shared twixt yourself @BILL S and @keithaitch but that never happened.
You do seem to drop me really quickly on the climbs - don't know whether that's my problem or just your advantage! I can assure you that I was really working hard on some of those climbs (big increase in HR) but still getting dropped like a stone. You're going to have to give me some climbing tips in the private team chat

Its got to be my turbo.
As far a I know we are using the same version of BSim and Turbo FW.
My resistance cut in just seems to happen later than both yours and Bills.
I wouldn't want to use too many other examples but the onset of slope resistance seems to affect you and Bill very similarly but mine always cuts in later so when I am riding with you (as opposed to against) I try and drop back behind you and then come through once my resistance has kicked in.
I also feel that both yourself and Bill can pull more watts on the flat than in climbs but not so for me.
To be honest it does not detract from my enjoyment of the rides but I often miss being coordinated with you both as things get harder.
Since I have given up with the WC and spent more time on Cyclechat rides I am getting more enjoyment from riding with people rather than against.

Does anyone else not seem to be collecting points for using to buy strips anymore.
I always had a healthy budget before but it is slowly ebbing away.

I thought just today that perhaps our NC Team should all go buy the same strip should BKool let us down again by not dishing out the kit until about a month after the challenge. I quite like the yellow and black kit with the red chainring on it as it represents the Chaingang.

I have about 20k bkool money but I sort of had that earmarked for a Spider-Man outfit :becool:

Not that it really helps but do you guys have your outfits from last year? I’m pretty sure mine’s still there.

I suppose I should add my experience of tonights Chain Gang.

A couple of weeks I was getting encouragement and advice from a number of you after sharing my frustration at how badly I felt I was riding on Bkool, compared to being out on the road.

I changed the bike I was using on the turbo and I've had a few more rest days. On the last 3 rides I seem to have noticeably improved. A bit early to say its a real breakthrough, but tonight I only finished 16 seconds behind @Brusgaard and around 1m 20s behind @BILL S and @keithaitch. 2 weeks back that would have just been impossible.

I've certainly felt a sprinkling of fairy dust but it seems to tie in with the long explanation given by @AAAC 76C, beautifully summarised by @CXRAndy as something like the faster you ride the faster you go.

I've certainly felt stronger, and it seems like I'm pushing harder on the flats and gentler slopes and that this seems to just compound the extra watts I'm putting out.

Certainly makes it more fun to be a bit more competitive. Just got to hope it keeps going!

Well I was going to say it's good to be back, but I'm not to sure now after tonight's effort.

At least the the internet worked well. Bought a 20 meter Ethernet cable and ran it temporarily direct from the router down the hall, through the kitchen and into the garage and directly connected to my laptop. I'll have to do a bit of drilling and make a make a permanent connection as Mrs GW wasn't too impressed.

Strangely, it was my Powerlne connectors that was causing wireless dropouts on all our tablets, phones and prevented both out laptops from connecting to the internet. Since I deinstalled them we haven't had one dropout, so hopefully we shout be good to go from now on.

Thanks @Whorty for the encouragement, as I was suffering at the time.

Del glad you seem to have got it sorted out, with all due respect I was surprised how close you were to us last night, long may it continue as long as you don't get too close more pressure is not needed, but if you can gang up with @Brusgaard and work together then you can really start to fly.

It also seemed that the gap didn't grow much so a faster start and try to hang on to one of the fast guys until your train comes along!

Cheers Keith!

I was as surprised as you that the gap wasn't growing. It narrowed a few times but then drifted out again, but I've got to be pleased with that!

Thought of trying for a faster start last night, but when I've tried it before I've paid for it so I opted for now to try and keep the pace steady. If I can maintain that, then I'll try and go for it again.

I was watching you going great guns last night - very impressive. Was cheering you on to beat Brusgaard, but he just had a bit more left in the tank. Next time you'll have him :okay:

I was hoping to stay ahead of him but could see him pulling me back and, as you say, he just had too much at the end.

I was hoping we might work a bit more together but we never really seemed to get it going.
