I expect perfection

Spoken like our team captain!I expect perfection![]()
That was awesome, tried to make use of drafting in the first half, it seems to work as I managed to follow you for a while and get a bit of a rest, hope it worked a little the other way too. At the end I thought you would catch me, I was at MHR and you still kept closing the gap, hung on... just. Not sure I want to see my HR stats on Strava. Bloody good work out though, I'm buzzing now.Good job @AndyMacca , my legs were gone because of a ride yesterday. Kept the gap close to 16 seconds...
I think mine hit max as well. Yes I've thought of it as a guide, but it's quite interesting seeing it as the fitter you get the higher max hr seems to be.View attachment 503510
I think the 220 - Age is just a guide. Using that formula mine would be 171 which actually was my average from the race. 😵
I'm hoping that MHR is literally the maximum that your heart can beat at, which i think I hit.![]()
If you were passing ghosts they don't provide drafting, only real riders and bkool bots.
My brain says no, lungs and says yes. Did not want to wait. Had to wait. Stayed on your tail too long @keithaitch, so I had to back off and struggled at first to stay with @Brusgaard and @Mark68 when they came back...not even as a trio we could claw back time from you keithThat looked like a real fight. Did you wait deliberately @perswe ?
AgreedMy brain says no, lungs and says yes. Did not want to wait. Had to wait. Stayed on your tail too long @keithaitch, so I had to back off and struggled at first to stay with @Brusgaard and @Mark68 when they came back...not even as a trio we could claw back time from you keithmaybe we were just happy to hold on to the others (at least I was) so instead of increasing speed I think maybe we even lost a little speed (thankfully).
Yes, I saved a little for the finish. Hoped I would get a little gap as I went a bit early. Those sprint finishes are fun, a bit like last year when they were more common in CC@League rides.Yes it was a tough one. I started to loose contact when it went down about half way I think but was able to pull back a bit and join Brusgaard and eventually Per, but at the cost of my legs.
We then had a nice.trio going, but I think we could all see the finish was going to be hard slog. I didn't have the legs to go early, but my brain was saying I need o go now. That was.at about 800 MTRS to go. I guessed Per.was.just biding his time before making a jump. Then he went and I couldn't get the power required to get back. Kudos to to Per and Brusgaard for making my life hell on that one.
As for the.final few metres I thought I was going to stop as it went to 47% just glad I had enough momentum to keep going.
Strava says max 💓 rate was 172. I think that would put me.at 100% or so if you used the old 220 minus heart rate system. Do they use that system now? I'm 51
I would like to have saved a little, but used it trying to catch you and @Brusgaard 🤪Yes, I saved a little for the finish. Hoped I would get a little gap as I went a bit early. Those sprint finishes are fun, a bit like last year when they were more common in CC@League rides.
