What happened at the start? I was surprised to see you a couple of hundred metres back pretty early on and wondered if you were practising for next week's omnium pursuit? When I got dropped I couldn't decide whether to TT or sit up so i kind of did neither which was daft as then I didn't have enough to hold your wheel on the climb.
I think I was in. Rgt mode and eased up too early by which time the express had left the station and I had to settle into tt mode. O have to say I didn't enjoy it any where near as much as rgt and don't know her many more bkool Thursdays I'll do.

Well that was tough - nothing new there though.

I think the time has come for me to hang up my Chain Gang pedals and take a less strenuous path for my pain.

It's been pretty lonely out there this winter, not like the old days when there used to be 3 different races within the group starting out on a Thursday evening.

There is no one left of similar ability, so I need to look at alternative sources of 'entertainment'.

There are many more different platforms out there now, d so many of the original cast have taken up different options. I'll be staying loyal with Bkool, as I enjoy the video when tootling along, and I don't get, and never have had many problems with the app - I must have been one of the lucky one's.

Also, I'd like to thank everyone who has spent their time organising, and providing admin for the various leagues over the last 6 or 7 years - with a special thanks to @keithaitch, @bills, @Brusgaard, and not forgetting Geoff Brown who put so much effort into the old Handicap Races - 'Team Beige' will never be forgotten - the hares that very occasional managed to hang on.

Anyway that's enough of that - so good luck to you all, and you may see me tootling around with a load of geriatrics.

Hopefully things will get back to normal, and we can all get out in the real world soon.

Well said, I couldn't be bothered as soon as I couldn't draft in the main bunch and with different trainers reaction times varied from the start it's a bit random to get a good start. The video routes are great for single sessions and I know how you must feel sat at the back with no company or challenge for 45 mins.

@Goldwolfie though I'm sure you don't know it you have been my hero for so long. Your dedication to the sport is incredible and you deserve every friendly tootle and downhill that comes your way. There have been many transciently immemorable rides on bkool over the years but i will never forget somehow hanging on to your wheel, with @shimceltic almost all the way down the col de aspen in a league ride. When I do it next on the real world I will think of you and the beer at the bottom will have your name on it. Stay safe and if i bump into you on rgt, where you would find many friends of similar level, I will be over the moon.

@keithaitch - Many thanks for the kind words and lets hope you will be supping that beer before too long.

There is plenty to keep me interested on Bkool, but I may have a gander at RGT, especially as it is free, and me being a tight pensioner.

It is not without sadness that I too announce that last night will have been my last ride in bkool and my pedals will join @Goldwolfie in retirement. This Winter I have become more and more frustrated with the unnecessary difficulties bkool puts in the way of organising leagues and appears to have little interest in solving. The move too rgt has simply reinforced my belief that things can be simpler for organisers. That, in addition to the more fulfilling experience of riding in rgt, last night on bkool felt so flat and like being on a static bike in the gym compared to the more real world experience of rgt means that I won't be riding the rest of this month's leagues nor next month's which I've prepared and have published. Contrary to my previous statement I wont continue with the admin until the end of May but will approve league rides on thursdays and Saturdays until the end of March if that's needed. I've put a lot of work into this over the last few years but the reward, knowing you guys, has more than compensated for it but i now longer feel the inclination to expend effort on a platform I no longer respect. Thanks for all the fish.
