Following on from Randy's post i have dropped 4 kilos and need to update my bkool profile. So that should make me a little faster on the ups but slower on the downs and flats? or is it more complicated than that?

I don't think it makes any difference on speed just the watts reading. On a ride pre update I averaged 7.7 mph and 49 cadence at 293 watts then the same ride after the update 7.7 mph 50 cadence it read 298 watts.
But more importantly with lower weight you'll get a lot less resistance so higher speeds. Plus that waffle diet isn't making me lose weight.

That pretty much sums it up. I've slowly been dropping weight as well but only at a kg a time so don't really notice the difference (except the gap isn't quite as huge between myself and bill/LB. Think I'd need to lose another 20 kilos to match their speeds!

Just picked up my replacement bkool from Evans. Just got home set it all up and have seen a prompt for update firmware to 3.6. Never got this once with the faulty one. But now the update keeps failing to install, that's with a usb extension cable and the ant+ touching the bkool unit . Bkool is harder work off the bike than on it.

Bkool you should also ask your distributers to handle the boxes a bit better, my new one looks like it's been run over by a truck.

Yayyyyy I'm updated to 3.6. Had to move laptop next to bkool and remove the usb extension cable to update.:bicycle:

On a side issue. I ordered my trainer on Monday, the try for 30 days for £1 option. Got an email saying it's on it's way but when I go into my account and look at my orders, it still shows awaiting despatch. I emailed them for clarification on delivery but not had a response. To be honest, early doors, I'm not at all impressed with the way bkool operate.

20 kilo's??? I don't think so Rick. The gap has narrowed incredibly and just in case you hadn't noticed you are sitting in 7th place in the Bkool Summer Cup!!!!!

took mine something like 8 days or so to arrive... wasn't too fussed, considering where its coming from.. well worth the wait.

If I'm honest, I could easily wait 8-10 days for delivery, I just can't stand poor customer care. And I have a very low tolerance for poor comms.
I'd much rather give my money to a company that has an excellent customer service, plus its cheaper.
I was only using bkool for the 30 days trial anyway, incase I didn't like the trainer, so no harm no foul.
Order cancelled before it was despatched I think, so all is good.

I know I'll be paying bkool for the subscription at some point, so they'll get my money in the end.

The bkool mat, does the job. I use it on wooden floors and its good.

And you can wipe the sweat off it. Tacx mat for example just absorbs the sweat and gets smelly.

Device returned Firmware update (3.06) available. BSIM confirms Firmware 3.6. No doubt, just a little sloppy programming.

Any ideas what changes the latest firmware brings?

Exactly what I ended up doing in the end. I had the I month free trial then bought from wiggle because the customer service at bkool had been so bad on the free trial. I had the classic on trial but wanted the pro for its quietness and they just wouldn't respond to my emails. By the time they responded to my first email, my daily emails to them were getting quite angry:cursing:.
