The watts/kg rating system destroys me on the hills. I push a 34/32 at 60 cadence on the d'huez stage and it shows I am doing 1.6mph in blue, but the speed sensor tells my garmin I am doing 5 point something mph. At that rate the stage would take something like 4 hours or more.

When I had a go at the stage it took me 30 minutes to do 1.6 miles @ 200 watts avg. :surrender:

I am slowly losing weight. But not quick enough for bkool :blush:

Is it possible that your unit needs a recalibration by bkool? I think someone posted about that a page or two back.

34/32 at 60 cadence = 5 mph. The only reason i can think of for the speed to go blue on climbs, would be if the trainer cannot apply resistance enough to accommodate your weight.

This could be right, depending on your weight, especially as the first bit of the Alpe is the steepest. You would have to weigh something like 120 kg or so.

How do you book it BIll?
Rob. I think you would have to contact bkool through their website and explain the situation and how you went to Amateur4 instead of well in to the Active. I can't see the figures for your ride for some reason when I tried to look at it earlier.
Why not try an FTP test and see if you get the expected result. Could be the d'Huez ride was a one off quirk.
Yesterday on my first attempt (of the day) I got to a point near the beginning when my resistance unit suddenly stopped resisting and I was flying up the slope as if it were flat (I got one minute ahead of LB ;) ) so I packed it in and restarted and this time it was normal. So I think there can be one off quirky rides.

Edit: Did you see that Alfonzo? I think you were watching at the time.

With this study i've done a Loughborough Uni i have all my accurate numbers and just doesn't add up, id love to average 200w up it but it didnt feel that low thats for sure ah well im not doing it again!

Yes Bill I did start to watch your Huez ride just as it was going a bit quirky, at first I thought
you were doing it for real at that speed, I was amazed , then I guessed something wasn't
right, I was gonna message you but you left the session before I managed it.

Some good times on the board for the alpe d'huez!!

Can't wait to ride it, got a shiny new Bkool pro set up in the garage waiting for my recovery from my recent hernia op:angry:

I wish I could say I am Lou Ferrigno, but I am no Hulk. More like the Bulk.

Yes I am the FLATB and I currently weigh in @ 133kg. It is going down slowly, but not as quick as I would like. The Bkool was an incentive for me when I was giving up smoking so I would not put on much weight. It has helped but not as much as I had hoped but the weight is going down again.

The problem I had on my attempt was not just getting kicked by the software (kind of expected). I have also gone down with a cold (which came to the fore a couple of hours after my ride) which I know I caught from a work mate before my d'huez session.

I have not had a good september. Put my back out at the end of August which kept me off the bike for 4 weeks and when I go to start riding again I go down with a cold.

Hopefully I will be back up and riding full time by the end of the week.

Looks like my trainer has broke - went for Alpe d'heuz tonight and about a mile into the course the trainer started making a knocking noise when the incline reduced so I carried on hoping it would go and as soon as the incline increased the noise went so I again carried on and then it seized completely. As soon as the route paused the trainer went back to normal - anyone have any ideas on a cure, don't want to send it back, can't be hassled.

Damned Bill, that was tough:heat:. I was hoping we could make a break for it and shift leads to get away from the pack.
It seemed to come true when we got away from Olvin, but then you kept passing me with an horrendous speed on the downhills, so I had to push crazy watts on the uphills to pull you back.

Sounds very similar to what happened to mine. Mine had a screw lose and it looks like it got jammed in there somehow. Mine is on its way back to wiggle for a refund.

Mine hasn't had the clicking noise, but very occasionally it gets really hard to pedal (mainly on descents), the watts output goes really high, but it generally sorts itself out on the next gradient change.
