I didn't notice a sticker on my replacement and I'm sure mine came from Spain. It asked me to update the software when i first used it. Maybe yours has the update already?
Sounds right to me, as mine came from Spain and was up to date on arrival so yet be updated. Hopefully Montes is the same

My bike is at the hospital .. it's poorly. Gears keep slipping and chain dropping off. No bike this week then - will be back on the bkool next Saturday hopefully

Bill and myself were on 3.2 and bkool agreed to switch them out for ones that would actually update. It appears a batch of trainers were shipped to the UK which didn't have the capability to upgrade firmware. Bkool are aware of this issue but don't like to admit to it.

They should be on 3.6. Doesn't make a difference at the minute but it'll reach the point where the software won't work right with old firmware and problems will begin!

Hi guys. I know this quote is from a while back but can you indulge me please.
I received my new trainer from bkool and thought I'd check everything was fine before I started using it. When I go into the simulator on the pc and go to settings and about bkool, it tells me my bkool is v.2.42.
Is this the upto date version?
Am I checking in the correct place?
I know in the quote people are on 3.2 or 3.6 so it's kind of a stupid question, but I'm not 100% sure this is referring to the software or not......all confused now.

Anyway, my point is......I can't find an option anywhere to actually upgrade the software or even check to see if there is an upgrade.
I remember reading in here somewhere that some units didn't have he option to upgrade. And I'm now worried bkool have sent me one of these units.
Can someone in the know give me some help please. Cheers.

Thanks Bill
Just noticed the 50% max!!!!!
Yea, I looked at the profile and couldn't identify where it'd be. So I purposefully held a little back so that I could respond... When it finally came it the video froze for a few seconds, the the trainer never did anything which felt abnormally hard. Eventually the video got going again. Presumably it was some kind of sync point for the video and gps breadcrumb trail.

Presumably that video was shot from a helmet cam or somesuch -- the wobbling around was starting to get to me after a while. I liked seeing more trees this time up.

Believe it or not, the worst part for me were the retrogrades. The higher cadence through those sections was enough to make my calves *very* tight.

When I got mine last month it told me there was new software available so I down loaded it but it is version 2.42 . But if you go to bkool indoor settings ( about Bkool ) it shows some info from the software .. Not sure if this will help ..

I have just found and pasted this post from someone els hope it helps .. - I made the same mistake reading the 2.32 at first  - I think thats maybe the software version - to find the firmware version you need to scroll down to find the Ant+ information section and the trainer version is found listed under there. It may say 0.00 - If so, just go out of the page and back in again til you see a different number! Seems that a few of us are on 3.2 rather than the latest 3.6 which apparently has much better cadence readings.

I too read the software version firs time around rather than the Ant+ details section ^_^

The cadence is certainly changed for version 3.6 but now mine reads too low a lot of the time rat her than too high!

If you're on 3.2 it's worth contacting Bkool to see what they say about getting to version 3.6. I've been told that some time in the future (though probably not for a long time) that machines stuck on 3.2 will eventually be unable to run the latest software. Like I say, probably won't be an issue for a long time but still worth asking about.

I had my first session on my new Bkool yesterday. Maybe a "stupid" question, but does type of bike and quality of bike actually matter on a roller, or is it only very small and insignificant differences? As of now I just have an old hybrid city bike hooked up, but have plans of putting my racer on it soon.

Maybe connected to the first question, but is the Bkool "calibrated" for a certain wheel dimension in any way?

And lastly. My workout wasn't uploaded to Bkool from my Nexus 9 tablet. The app just keep on saying that the activity was not uploaded every time I try to upload it. Has anybody else experienced this? Very frustrating.

Like you I have an old Scott Sportster Hybrid. Took it to bike shop yesterday to get it repaired (gears won't change, which makes the mountain goat sessions interesting!!) and the guy in the shop suggested that turbos and hybrids are not the best mix LOL. TBH though, I'm there to get a bit fitter not to challenge Nibali up the Alpe d'huez

Whorty, I am not sure riding a hybrid makes much if any difference. It's all about your weight over rear and pressing down on the turbo, a sufficiently pumped up tyre, good selection of working gears and your own engine? It makes no difference if I ride using my commuter with 32 MM Tyres at 90psi on wide rims or my road bike with 25m gators at 120 psi on narrow rimmed rs80s, In fact it's easier to get my weight over the turbo on the commuter because it has a more upright stance. Not so good for my back or calves though. It's possible a grippier tyre my help. It's also possible I am talking bollux whilst I avoid a re rerun of a certain mountain climb
