I've cleared out the issues now but please bare in mine if there is no HR somebody could easily be using an e-bike, im not saying they are of course but could this be considered when making attempt, especially new names to this forum.

Use the @Rob H to tag me on here if you have any issue

Just ordered a Pro yesterday from the Bkool website after trying out a mate's trainer.

Any ideas on the lead time from ordering to delivery from Bkool?

The weather has started to turn now and I'm keen to get training! :-)

They usually seem to take a week. The first you will hear or see is that the courier should send you an email/text saying which day and time of day it'll be delivered. On the bkool website it will just say "Preparing delivery".

New Trainer, first ride on it straight after a night shift, not a good idea.

Just completed the alpe d"huez on the mountain goats league.......and................OMG that was so so tough.
I actually felt like collapsing at about 2 mile in, but somehow managed to stay the course. All be it at a slow time compared to some of you Mountain Goats. Any way, just checked the league and my attempt is not valid due to the average cadence or something. Will this just take time to be processed or do I need to contact bkool or someone on here.
It seems everytime I do a course/route, its classification attempt is failed on one thing or another. hmmmmmm

I could do that :headshake:. But as I am now doing something about my 50yo sedentary life, I would rather not game the system to get a result. My registered weight is already about 6 pound below my current actual weight (I was about 15lb heavier) as the software will not generate a training plan at my actual weight.

I REALLY wouldn't worry about "cheating", climbing sessions like Ventoux will still be plenty hard enough for you to burn up loads of calories even if you reduce your registered weight a little to get the system working properly.

The Bkool trainer struggles to apply enough resistance at around 80 kg or more on >10% slopes above around 250 Watts, so if you do reduce your weight it won't actually get any easier. At 100 Kg or so, it should just work better on any downhill bits.

Also, make sure you don't completely stop pedalling on down hills, as it will take that as you wanting to stop the session and give you the prompt. You have to "soft pedal" to keep the session going, just spin at around 50-60 cadence without applying any real power. That's better for blood flow and recovery anyway.

I found that a long slog on a mountain goat session was by far the best way to lose weight! It's the only way I've ever found to burn almost 1,000 calories an hour ... :okay:

Well done, I've not done any of the goat stages yet, the weathers been too nice at weekends, and I've other things to do in the evenings but I hope to do d'Huez tomorrow. I'm not expecting to beat my best time, just looking forward to getting to the top and maybe getting back to an active fitness rating.

What we need is a Chain Gang race. That'd get you interested. Just so long as it doesn't clash with cake or fish 'n' chip night :tongue:

Don't worry about that Hazie. Me or Rick just need to validate it if one of the parameters doesn't pass the standard bkool verification. As Geoff says, that's something bkool really need to fix to make it easier to set-up and manage leagues. In reality the only one that really should be set as standard is the Session completed one. The rest should be an opt in rather than an opt out.

Anyway, your d'Huez ride is now validated and will be in the stage results. Getting into the overall results takes a day or so though.

I've been cheating my health for most of my life . It just feels wrong to game the system to get a better finishing time, even though it is still at max resistance. For once I am trying to do the right thing .

Ah, now I know what I will have to aim for . I do not normally stop on the DH sections.

Although I would like to complete the Mountain Goat stages atm I am not fit enough to do it well. I did do the d'Huez stage of the league (outside of the league and as a test) and it took me 2 hours with my weight adjusted to 100kg.

What I will do instead is use the top 100 climbs as my mountain goat stages. Still hard, for me, but at least I have a chance of finishing in a reasonable amount of time (less that 4 hours:wacko::crazy:)

Thanks
