For those interested. Switching from an old hybrid to my new racer improved time on a 23 km course with 9 minutes and that was with a lot less suffering... Wonder why? Could it be tire pressure alone?

just tried to do SLOVENSKA BISTRICA and it came up server disconnected which stay on screen until I clicked on accept which logged me out what should I have done so it wouldn't log me out of my ride, when that's happened in the past its connected again in a few seconds but not this time
I think that when you get the server disconnect message the thing to do is just keep going and not click on anything. It usually connects again itself and still gives an accurate time. It's just that others won't see you. I think.

Possibly. With the hybrid I was totally blasted! Yesterday on the racer I gave it 70-80% but still aeons faster!

Tyre pressure and a stiff frame with good racing geometry make a massive difference. I notice the difference between my carbon fibre racer and my aluminium one. And that's just on frame stiffness and marginal geometry difference.

What I will do instead is use the top 100 climbs as my mountain goat stages. Still hard, for me, but at least I have a chance of finishing in a reasonable amount of time (less that 4 hours:wacko::crazy:)

Very sensible! I found anything approaching 2 hours or more of climbing to be too much for me, around an hour 15 mins was my comfort limit!

After that various parts of my anatomy started to complain bitterly! :surrender:

If anything is going to sleep it will be my hands, and I am sitting quite upright. The padding on my posterior aside from the shorts aids the longer 'rides'

I have done some 1 and a 1/2 hour rides (plus warm up and cool down) and that is currently about my trainer limit. I am trying to do 1 or 2 sessions of about 1 and a 1/4 hours total excluding a warm up and cool down on each of the days I use the trainer. Usually 4 or 5 days a week when fit. I am setting my targets and once achieved moving on to the next one :bicycle:
