would like to attach and compare my Giant Advance Pro 1, luvverly Hunt disc wheels and tubeless schwalbe 28 tyres but that seems overkill and I am scared of shredding the tyres! I am 3-5 miles faster on it on the road than the pro6 so it would be interesting.

Really Nice bike Bobinski.

Same as mine as it happens lol.

I use mine on the trainer and don't have any issues other than the tyres wear a bit faster than on the roads. But I guess that's down to what type of tyre you use. But I wouldn't purchase a summer/racing tyre to use on the trainer. I'm currently using continental gator skins, but they've only been put on recently, so i will feed back if they don't last long.

I'm currently using a Conti 4 season, an old one that I had replaced on the summer bike. It wore flat after a couple of rides but is hanging in there. It seems to work OK so I don't plan on changing it until it's threadbare!

That was another strange start was it not? I think we were ready for it this time though as we were off the line fast. You were a bit behind perhaps but you caught me quick along with Olvin. There was someone way out front who obviously had no resistance at all and did the whole thing at 40mph. Hope he doesn't get credited with the win.
Anyway, well done Rick. If you knew how much pain I was in you might have gone quick enough to beat me. I was sure that you and Scott would get me near the end. I was wondering which of you came out on top.
Do you mean it's possible to "cheat"?

Pc/laptop specs:

I need to get a new perhaps refurbished laptop to run Bkool so not looking to spend too much. I think the hardware demands are pretty low but suspect not a good idea to go below a dual core cpu and 8 gig of ram. Graphics/video playback? I am assuming igp likely to be fine but would probably play safe with with a discrete graphics chip on board. I am using Mrs B's laptop at the mo and it has intel igp 3000 I think. I suppose i am trying to find out whether beefier specs mean less likelihood of the screen freezing and rides failing to record. Dell's outlet has some good looking refurbs. So, what are you all using/getting away with?

Hi, just got a classic trainer and am going to join the league so will hopefully get riding with some of you!

Like bobinski above, i need a new laptop though as my old one is too slow. I was going to ask what spec laptops people are using, and if a few could post them on here so I know how much I'm going to have to fork out.

Might be better to post it in a different thread though so it's easy for other new Bkool owners people to find? I've made another thread so would be great if people could post their laptop specs, and if they have any problems.

Thanks

Oh Joy! Looks like I've got to chase Guy (as the only one who's done it so far) up Col du Glandon tonight. Not looking forward to it if it's anything like your last effort Guy.
I really don't fancy spending well over an hour at 101% so it'll be another ride watching you disappear into the distance:cycle:.

edit: Anyone else up for it? Starting the session about 5pm

Ha Ha Ha
Try spending over 2 hours at 106% going up that buggar of a hill, Mont Ventoux.
The word "Hill" just doesn't seem to do it justice in my opinion, Hardest bloody Hill I've ever rode up.
Oh and by the way,
There has to be a much more fitting name for that kind of torture I've just put myself thru, rather than "cycling".

I really don't know how you guys do it in the times you do, Kudos to you all. I'm just pleased I actually made it to the top.

On to the next Hill ha ha.

Used the new trainer today, ouch that was a bit of a shocker climbing d'heuz - had a small issue with my bike this time, rear wheel moved and was rubbing the rear stays...

Not sure if its me out of BKOOL practice but the ride felt harder and the watts was lower.

Nice to have my trainer back, will be getting some sessions in.

I noticed when using the Bkool trainer I borrowed, my gears would slip, and they never have done on the road.

Could this be down to using the Bkool quick release spindle incorrectly?

could be, but also you will put a lot more pressue on the cassette than a normal ride unless you live in the alps

That is interesting, it did happen on the Alp D'uez climb where I was hammering it 300W for an hour, so maybe that was the case!
