Did two of the Moose rides tonight. City Creek Canyon and then Subida Soller. Not one off the best idea's I have had:ohmy:, thought I was going to joining the sick gang!! Should have set a good ghost time for the City Creek ride for the Moose's. It may need validating tho, showing a red cross against lost signal. As mentioned above, think Bkool was playing up, now for a rest!!:reading:
City Creek is a real nice ride. First half is relatively easy climbing; second half is more like climbing steps.

Moose riders:

We're sharing a couple rides with the goats. If you want to do City Creek & Little Cottonwood in the Goats league (where you can add ghosts & bots), I'm more than happy to add those times to the Moose league. I believe the procedure would be something like:

1. Do the ride for the Goats league.
2. Do a couple minutes of the ride for the Moose league, then quit & save the session.
3. I can then copy your Goat time into the Moose league ride.

Or you can do both. That's not too rough for City Creek, but for Little Cottonwood it'll be painful.

Good ride on the Velodrome event tonight Bill, seriously fast start by you:eek:
I started to lose it at about half way, ran out of gears, then sweat was getting in my eyes and I was having trouble seeing.. did get to see your blue jersey fly past though, was going to jump on your wheel but just didn't have anything left!
Was giddy by the end.. but at least there were no mountains :heat:

I was watching you too Jonbon, and was hoping we could possibly take a 1st and 2nd if the guy up front ran out of puff. Like you, I was short on gearing and was just spinning too fast in top. Good race though indeed. My start was just very lucky and probably cutting it a bit fine with the countdown.

Rick - I have a new recruit, (paul bridgman) another friend of mine has taken the leap of bkool world and would like to join in with the Thursday night chain gang. Someone else that will kick my ass...
Reporting is as requested Monte! New Bkool was set up and tried out for the first time tonight - I never knew I could sweat that much! I look forward to checking out some league rides soon if possible....
Thanks Monte. You're our new recruitment officer! :becool:

You're in Bridgy. Welcome to the pain! :welcome:

Question for any training guru's.

Should i be training in power zones or heart rate zones? I've just done a ride in Z2 of my heart rate, but after finishing, I wondered if I should have done it in Z2 of my power zone.

cheers

Hi Mango , I think Im right in saying the opinion on training is now using power instead
of heart rate as a guide, this is because heart rates can increase or decrease because
of different things such as temperature , fatigue etc and also during a workout
your heart rate will rise naturally whereas power stays consistent , meaning for example
200 watts will always be 200 watts if you ride for say 1 hour or if you ride for 5 hours whereas
your heart rate may start at 140 BPM at 90rpm in a certain gear but after a while it will
rise to say 160 BPM with no extra effort, this is an example only but hope you
get what I mean.

I've noticed that cyclenet have a group on strava, I was wondering how
it works , do you keep your rides as private so as not to affect the
leaderboards of people who have done the rides for real?
I have 2 strava accounts, one for all rides I do indoors and outdoors
keeping all my indoor rides as stationary trainer and private and all
outdoor rides open , my other account is for bkool rides only and all
rides are just marked as private so as not to affect the leaderboards.

Fear not Alfonzo - Strava have updated now to include the option of Virtual rides which dont list on KOM's. Mine is linked with Bkool and every Bkool ride shows up on Strava but never on the KOM's. Used to be an issue at first but not any more.

Oh cool , thanks Rick, I`ll take a look at that, how do I go about joining the cyclenet group on Strava,
do I need to apply on there?
Sorry , another question, if I link my BKool with Strava will all the rides I`ve done on the BKool
before now also transfer across or just from the date I link?
What I`m thinking is, do I need to delete all my BKool rides I`ve put on Strava before I link
the accounts as I don`t want the rides to duplicate , hope I`m not seeming to thick here!!

Hi - My ride isn't showing from last night. I assume it is based on me changing my weight yesterday. If someone can approve it that would be good thanks!

Preferred the previous stage to that one as prefer it when it is more uphill all the way rather than up and down which i think the next one is again

Not sure how you join the cyclechat strava. I know I ended up in it but can't remember how!

It'll only transfer rides from now on. Well, it didn't upload previous rides of mine when I created the link between the two.

Just request to join via Strava and I'll approve it.

I pretty sure it'll only syncs new rides. Also be aware that if you link Bkool and Strava, your Strava rides will end up on Bkool.
