Just a quick happy new year to all chaingang mates, for me it ends with my homework finished (run the league finale the other day). Enjoy New Year eve!
It was your ghost yesterday that gave me chest pains and made me drop out of the race LOL :headshake::surrender: I may have another go on Saturday if I feel a bit better

Why can I generate more power on the steeper climbs?

On the Bkool I'm finding that I can maintain a higher average power up a steep climb than my maximum power on the flat.
Watts going on?

Me neither but I do have a wife so I will probably be there as well!

By 'F' that Chaingang hurt after yesterdays Goats ride. Legs were empty but everything else was willing.

Thanks for the motivation BillS as without you I probably would not have beat my PB and your GB Senior 2 record (post edit GB Record, not just Senior 2) which you stole from me by a few seconds!

Happy New Year you all. Don't undo all the years good work tonite though, all be it I probaly will and then tomorrow night I'll be booking and paying for this years (2016) holiday in the sun after some serious silent treatment from the other half!

But what can you do on the road.

It is quite normal for your climbing output to be higher but saying that BKools are, I believe, optomistic above 2% gradients.
Unless you're training really seriously I wouldn't worry about it!

Died a death on that one. Felt like I'd burnt out trying to stay with the fast guys for the first quarter. Decided to try and work with LB's ghost but we're completely different styles so that didnt work either! (Thanks for the encouragement Lars during the session thought it was a tad optimistic telling me to open a gap before the final hill! :okay:)

Well Done AAAC, Bill and Bob - great race you guys! Cracking pace! :notworthy:

So thats it ..... Chaingang coming to a close for the year - better get my skates on organising the New Year sessions.

Happy New Year Gangers, Goats and Mooses!! :hugs:

Sounds like normal Bkool behaviour - most of us do our best FTP tests climbing Alpe Duez for 30 minutes rather than doing the official Bkool FTP test of 20 minutes at 2%. Much easier getting the watts up at 8%

As AAAC says, dont take it too serious and just enjoy it - its fairly consistent in its readings so you'll be able to see the improvement in your own form regardless of the figures being inaccurate Watt compared to the real world.

Sorry about that last remark, Rick. I convinced my family that watching the race was fun, but they insisted that we watched my ghost. Well done everyone, and a rough calculation of mine, now brings Bill in front of the Chain Gang league...but I'll be back:becool:

Happy new year^_^

Well done all. That was a pretty tough ride. Apart from nearly catching you with that one good slingshot AAAC you were always pretty safe out in front. Bob & Rick, I'm guessing you were both slightly the worse for wear as you'd normally be right on my case at that kind of speed. LB's ghost too.

^_^ I have no excuse Bill. I don't drink at all, just didn't have anything in the legs for some reason

Well done Bill, if Lars is correct and you've hit the no.1 spot again overall! :becool:

Me in front?? I thought you had a big enough lead. Todays effort was to try and stay in 2nd place.
