Don't forget Monte's 10,000 calories a day rule.
I gained 4 kg on those 14 days so I think it's safe to say I got at least 10,000 calories each day :-)

Heads will roll,

Bill and I are flying over the Spain next week to call an emergency Board meeting with them to warn them not to cross the Cyclechat crew again. :boxing:

But we know that's not true. Bill will be so spent from his weekend you would have to be carrying him^_^ In fact they were probably taking advantage of his absence last night:angry:

They really do need to start taking Zwifts approach of taking a Vortex, for example, along side a Bkool trainer and seeing what 'handicap' they need to build in on climbs.

Say for example a bkool user is struggling up a 10% climb and a vortex user of the same weight is sitting alongside feeling like its a 6% climb. Bkool should be reducing the Vortex riders speed to force them to push harder to keep up with the Bkool user. Effectively forcing them to go into a higher gear or cadence in order to keep up. Obviously they should be making the downhills equal as well, which is what they are hinting at with the update.

Absolutely. I don't know how Zwift do it but it does seem to work. That said, there is some groaning by users about advantages certain turbo users have. But any differences, perceived and/or real don't appear to be anywhere near as showstopping as those that exist in bkool.

I'm afraid you were right to be sceptical!

I have just hooked up my KICKR to a Windows PC and updated the bkool simulator. and still managed to pedal slowly down an 11% decline at less than 4mph!

My old Bkool Pro would have accelerated up to about 15 times that speed!

Very disappointed and frustrated...

I guess what they have tinkered with is the initial momentum you can carry into a slope, but that is like fixing the bar tape when the wheels won't go round!

Hey Everyone, We got an email from Bkool early this morning that said the latest firmware of theirs hasn't been released just yet, but they're "working to have it ready as soon as possible". :-) We'll let everyone know when they tell us it's out.

Most groaning on Zwift Ive seen is aimed at non smart trainer (zpower) users cruising around at 7 w/kg.

I think this relates to a firmware update for the trainer, yesterdays update was for the simulator software. So it sounds like BKool trainer users will be getting some more fixes too, but in a firmware update.

As Rob_H said, the reference is to a firmware update for bkool trainers (which obviously don't apply to non-bkool trainers). For a non-bkool trainer the changes would have to all be in the simulator software, Bkool Indoor, which was updated yesterday.

Others have posted that they have said on facebook that Virtual Speed has been added for non-bkool trainers, but my quick test showed this was not the case with my KICKR.

Just completed the col de la madeleine in the goats league. Boy that was tough. :heat: Maybe i was just in bad form but I felt harder than san Glorio.

@Baldo Mero your ghost fairly spurred me on and there was nothing in it at the end.

I did notice that when the gradient went from say 4% to 13% that the speed dropped off fast to start with until maybe +2mph from real speed and then went blue and stayed blue for like a minute slowly integrating down by around 0.1mph every 5 seconds to get down to my real wheel speed. I know in real life if you hit a 13% climb you'll fall of the bike very fast if you stop pedalling.
