I had the same. Thought I might of just been a bit pissed before though.

On a weekday!

A few days ago they released 2.54 and yesterday they released 2.541.

Amongst unknown other things, it fixed the free spectator mode's ability to spectate in 3D and video.

What it didn't seem to fix was Virtual Speed for non bkool smart trainers (or at least my KICKR)!

Geoff, your sounding a bit P'd of by this.
I would be if I had forked out for a KICKR!
Perhaps you should buy the BKool Pro thats on ebay for £220 with a note that it vibrates alot over 20mph and the owner thinks the flywheel is out of balance.
I want a Pro and if I could go see it it might be a bargain as there are a few things that may cause this but an out of balance solid disc with a 10mm hole in the middle sounds unlikely.

@IrishAl suggested to try a group live ride for the goats league (= herd ride?). Tuesday night @7pm was suggested. Is anybody in for Coll D'Allos tonight? I'll do it but depending on the interest I'll do it at that precise time or not.
Sorry @Baldo Mero i missed your earlier message and i am working away from home for the rest of this week and wont get back until Friday. Like you i like to get out on the road at the weekends so that limits me to weekdays and this league will be over.

I did send one back last year that somehow got scored on the one face after a particularly long and arduous climb. I wondered if it had distorted slightly as it heated up and rubbed against the magnet somehow, but anyways that thing REALLY sounded like it was dying a long and painful death at speed. I'm about as mechanically minded as a chimp, so I can't really give much more information.
But just a cautionary warning that they can **** their pants!

I haven't seen anyone else with a non bkool smart trainer comment on seeing blue figures, or indeed not seeing them. I'll wait and see if it works for anyone else before chasing bkool.

Geoff

Very short test yesterday: on the goats stage I did not see any blue figures, this was only climb but at least I can confirm that the virtual speed was not lowered on the steepest ramps (about 11-12%), which should overpass vortex's resistance capacity.

After the stage I started a random live ride starting in downhill, I definitively noticed that my virtual speed was slightly higher than I am used to in similar terrain but not as much as I would expect. Maybe it was all a placebo effect, maybe I am too light to notice a significant boost. I didn't see anything blue. This was just a couple of minutes and I was pumped up from the goats climb, eyes were injected with blood and everything red :heat: so let's say I need to research further into it.

Its me selling the bkool pro on ebay for £220, it was one returned to wiggle last year that they resold, The rotor is out of balance but the bearings are fine. Someone who knows how to balance a rotor may be able to fix it - it may be a case of just rotating the rotor to the right point on the shaft or it could require machining. I brought it just to use the pro stand on my classic.

I don't know how steep that descent you did was, but you probably need to find a pretty extreme example of a downhill to test it for sure - if you do this week's chaingang ride (my "Epic"!:hyper:), the descent down Cheddar Gorge should probably do the job!

The trick is to go as fast as possible at the start of the descent until the speed goes blue and then back off completely and the speed should continue to climb as long as the steepness remains the same, or gets steeper (if the descent is around -3.5% or more in my experience). Fingers crossed it works for you...

Sorry, busy as hell the last couple weeks. I'll put league 2 back up. Anyone wanting to ride with ghosts will have to do so outside the league plus a 1 minute league run so I can copy their time over.

I don't see that it should have anything to do with the trainer or it's firmware, as AAAC said, they just need to reduce the resistance and calculate the speed from the decline and riders weight. Since they've had resistance control on the KICKR for years, I can't see any need for FE-C.

I did one ride post update. A climb of course, but I did occasionally see speed in blue foer brief periods of time. Transitions between flatish and climbing or if I spun up hard during a climb.

Can't say if it helped my time or not.

The text at the end of the update did not mention sustained descent/ascent speed it only mentioned smooth transition.
BKool have told Geoff that the most recent update(s) should fix his problem with KICKR which, generically, worked fine with BKool in the past which is Geoff's concern.

What JLaw has stated wouldd indicate that the slope transition has been implimented but 'descent virtual speed' and 'non-

BKool trainer limit excedence' does still not appesr to have been addressed.
