Rick, that was some effort you were putting in up that hill. You were pulling away with the slope at 10% and I was wondering if you were coaxing me into over exerting myself. You wouldn't do a thing like that would you? Not quite sure how I pulled away at the top. Perhaps a small wormhole or a slingshot that you missed out on.

Bill I watched you and Rick on the shallow descent after the climb and your speeds seemed so much higher than his. I'll try and find some examples in the video.

Every time I switched to watch Noah the video went mad, freezing and hopping back and forward, but it was fine for everyone else.

Noah was leapfrogging me all the time whilst I was logged on. He would just appear by my side, then zoom off into the distance, before reappearing behind me again...it was making me a bit dizzy tbh, and might account for my poor form!

That of course, and having to twice retrieve my leg from the ditch.

Bill,

I think this might have something to do with why you pulled away ...

+35 mph for 12 seconds up a 5.2% slope, hitting 782 watts near the top.

Well I can definitely report that the Tacx trainer is a massive disadvantage on the downhills... I borrowed a friends Tacx Neo today to trial it on both Zwift & bkool, on Zwift it works perfect giving you momentum on the downhills. On the Bkool a completely different story, I felt my power on the flats was about right for my ability and in turn speeds where you would expect them but the minute you get an increase in the resistance you lose all your momentum, not so bad on the little climbs but when I hit the big climb at the end it felt like I hit a brick wall - I went from doing over 20mph to 6mph instantly, then the downhill section my little legs haven't peddaled so fast, I must of looked like a mad man...there was absolutely no resistance whatsoever and I was spinning the pedals has fast as I could, my max speed (and I could only hold it for a couple of seconds was 37mph) I avg around 32mph.

Don't rush out and spend a £1k on a Tacx Neo for the bkool software.

I'm sending my bkool back (again) I've given up this time...my replacement trainer has never been right, sending out low data. I want to research a few more trainers, but hopefully see you all online soon.

Darn, missed the start coz bkool wouldn't login and when it did it froze:angry: eventually started 20min down and gave chase and after 15k disconnected and I had to ride on my own. Nearly stopped. Turned the music up and plodded away.
How was the start?!? Somewhat surprised(not) to see Bill near the front^_^. Respect.
Look forward to seeing the video Geoff.

Ah that explains it. There wasn't much in it and I looked down briefly -when I looked back up bill was nearly a minute ahead! I missed the wormhole!

Think I'll claim the moral victory
Great race though Bill. You've recovered well after the weekend

Yeah, my frustration is worse than ever. As for the 217 bpms, I think that i was forced to switch on the other heart when I saw the snails passing me downhill... to now avail. Kudos for the great Bkool's update, they have managed to make it even worse if possible

I like the steep hills - helps me get the power down whereas I struggle on the shallow slopes. :training:
Was hoping I'd break you but I should know by now that wasn't going to happen. :banghead: Was scared Bridgy was going to come charging too but thankfully I stayed away.

Well at least they are trying to fix it, hopefully they'll get it right in the end. In the meantime, start a league with rides that only go between 0% and 6%!

Looks to me like AAAC jumped the start

Not sure how one does that Bill as a pedal wasn't moved before the 0 showed.

Anyways you all shot past me soon after.

By the way who's idea was it to go of that blimmin fast.
I was doing crazy Watts for the first ten minutes and my HR was already up in the low 160's which is normaly where I back off but there was no room to do that with Jacob dancing off down the road.

I tried a bit of two up time trialing with LBHifi but I think I broke him on the small climb, more me worried that he would fly by but had the opposite affect, and by the time I crested the small climb I had clawed quite a bit back on Jacob so I pressed on.

He then appeared to be backing off a bit, perhaps waiting for me, so we joined company again and had couple of small tradings of the lead until we we approaching the final climb.

So other than the PC crashing I was having a real enjoyable sufferfest today and all though one bit of me wanted it all to end my heart was really enjoying the workout and I just had that feeling that despite whatever my legs were telling me my heart was going to back me up which is just about where it all ended.

I spun down for a couple of minutes whilst I logged back on and I couldn't even find the session to join as a spectator.
So I got off the bike stretched off for 5 minutes had a shower and then my dinner was ready but I felt like I could get back on my bike and do it all again.
