Just had a look a Strava and the Chain Gang members are dominating the flat part of this weeks race. Bill and Gail on top. As for the climb section, we have to be contented with being on page 2 and 3. I'm sure AAAC would be on the 1st page had he been on Strava.

Andy, I see you have a KICKR and until recently KICKR riders got no freewheeling and downhills were like flats so at least there is a move in the right direction.

I see you are 95kg so you will descend pretty quick compared with us lighter riders.

Do you accelerate immediately on a descent or do you acclerate slowly?

On my Classic I used to immediately go to my max slope speed but now with my Pro I accelerate to it,perhaps slower than reality.

I am suprised you get any blue speeds in a velodrome session as this should be only for slope transitions, steeper slopes and descents so that is an anomoly that needs reporting.

Hi AAAC before the update I used to keep pushing on descents, the resistance would reduce and I was comfortable pushing hard to maintain a high speed. Now I can crest a hill, accelerate and the numbers turn blue. So as others have mentioned you don't need to try whilst 'blue'. I coast until the number turns white and then start pushing.

The velodrome session was silly at the start, with the speed slowly increasing whilst blue. It happens on chaingang at the starts. I start hard but are just wasting energy until bkool decides I have the correct speed.

How do I notify bkool of this problem. ?

As I sit here idly on a Sunday morning being punished with trying to get son no 3 to do his homework my mind drifted to wondering what effect music has whilst cycling.

Normally in a futile attempt to expand my pea like mind I listen to TED pod casts whilst ambling away in the garage. Sometimes though I stick a bit of classic rock on and I do think I pedal faster. Is it just that I am easily led or is this a common phenomenon (and even when I type that word in my head I follow it up with doo doo dee doo doo)

I think music plays a massive part of my riding and to what cadence and rhythm i get into....... for the chain gang handicaps i have been using mainly drum and bass as it's got a fast tempo and really gets me going. :music:
This morning i completed the Curella Killer Kicker ride on my own and listened to various tunes from Dance to some slow stuff and i definitely slow down when it's the slow stuff playing!!! At one point my tunes stopped completely so i had to bang out the last 5 miles in silence with just the sound of the turbo...

Good grief, drum and bass from Alfie and dance music from Breedon what on earth is going on here? Did the population of cyclechat suddenly get cool whilst my back was turned? Adam or Goldwolfie please return some decorum to this forum and let me know that you listen to the Brighouse and Rastrick brass band whilst pedalling!

Gail on top?? Didn't think I'd be hearing those words any time soon!
And much more disturbing than that, the above quote says "Bill and Gail" on top.
Until you brought it up, I wasn't even going to go there.

I put on Radio 6 music, I just like the eclectic mix they have, although it's on I can't say I really listen to it or use the beat to help my cadence.

TED pod casts would just need too much thinking about to cycle to.

New Order or Cocteau twins or similar on bkools more intense rides but when Zwifting and able to listen to and enjoy music i tend to reveal my age further by listening to Genesis etc.
