£2.50 for a bacon roll? Blimey round these parts you could get the whole pig for that, buy it an engagement ring and pay for the wedding and still have change from £2.50.
Bloody hell that was close! Nearly scored an own goal and a divorce replying to this one.

I don't use the hrm too often but I find it hard to hit 170!
Don't use mine much either Rick as I do find putting it on a particularly unpleasant experience. Usually it has been left in the garage so is cold and a bit damp and therefore when it touches my clammy body it is a bit like when you first get into a cold swimming pool.

If putting a bra on is anything like that I have great sympathy for women and I suspect were I a lady I would be the Charlie Dimmock of Cyclechat (@Randyberlin if you have to Google Charlie make sure you Google the circa 1990 version of Charlie not the current version to get my reference).

Randy is getting quite an education on here. Perhaps he should enter their equivalent of Mastermind with the chosen topic

Is that bad then  as my HR is pretty much always about 160 or above for all the rides i have done on the BKool

I am not sure it's "bad" as such more a reflection I was riding on or near my limit. One of the ways to calculate max HR is 220- age, in my case that would give me a max of 167. I sometimes hit 170-175 in bkool and have maxed at 184 I think. I slightly panicked when I saw that but all seemed fine. I do watch my heart rate as I cool down from a ride. Apparently as long as it falls steadily after exertion that's a good thing. If it doesn't then time to rest and perhaps even get tested.

I'm with you on this Alfie. I've still not managed to get my hrm working with Bkool, but I know from using it on the road I only have to turn the peddles to hit 150bpm. Then it's onwards and upwards...

Your HR stats mirror mine almost exactly.

220-age seems to be a rough guide and athletes can vary a lot above and below

This website has a little more insight to different methods

http://www.brianmac.co.uk/maxhr.htm

I have exceeded my max theoretical maximum by 11bpm. I didn't feel my heart was going to explode only my lungs were burning in complaint

Nice little calculator too!

I exceed my max HR on all of them whether choosing Elite or Average. Not sure if i should go  or be
