Well, it began counting up from 2:00, but after 10-20 seconds I started to pedal, and it then told me to stop pedaling to start, and after 5-10 seconds, I then entered the race.
So I guess I started about 30 seconds late. I think it is my ride time that is used in the rankings, and not (my end time)-(session start time), so I don't think my start problem has any effect here. I'll have to notice if my ride time starts at 0 next time.

Having been putting in the miles on the road, I must admit to neglecting the Bkool. I've been keeping up to date with this thread and there are some impressive improvements. I did think about joint the hour velodrome challenge but think the weather will be a bit to hot, especially in my garage which is a bit like an oven in hot weather.

Disastrous for me, firstly I thought it's a really nice day lets go out on the road bike for s short ride, ended up 25 miles and a headwind all the way back... so I was knackered before I started then to top it off this happened - I stopped pedalling about a minute short of the warm up, watch the 10 second count down then every shot off the line and I got the message stop pedalling o start race, by the time I got going I was already a couple of laps down, I was in last place and manage to cycle like a twat got up to twelfth and then ran out of legs.

Too hot in my garage and what a tit for thinking about doing a warm up ride before hand.

Rick was flying - not sure where he finished as I logged off.

Thought something had gone wrong for you monte - could have done with a drafting partner in there!

Gave it all I got at the start to try and get a lap on a guy I'm evenly matched with (which I did) and then held that gap. Was getting picked off very quickly by the big guns :gun: so kept dropping down the table. My nemesis had a fail and left the session but I ended up neck and neck with 'Ernest' for about 25 minutes, but he just had too much in the tank for me and I faded off and just held my place. I think it had me down at 14th.
CORRECTION: Results are out and i placed 4th out of 30 finishers.

Not fun, not fun at all! (but glad I did it). Averaged 292 watts, 100% effort (and it felt it!) xx(:heat:

I watched you for a while Rick but then lost my connection. Looked tough out there and in the heat and I wouldn't fancy my chances. Fortunately for me I couldn't make it home in time to find out.

I was shocked on the pace today... I rode for 25 minutes with an average speed of 29mph, so god knows how fast Rick was going !!!

Think mine works out at just shy of 31mph. I was flagging badly near the end though. Pep Tache and another rider were going past me as if I was out for a family cycle though!

Completely unrealistic figures - There's not a pup's chance I could do anywhere near that. Probably 22-23 mph on a good day with some occasional draft assistance??

Thanks for the encouragement mid-race! I was really feeling it at that point!
Heat wasnt too bad where I was but just too many top riders showed up so I wasnt even in the top ten!

CORRECTION: out of 30 finishers I placed 4th overall. Beat by a pro and two other active riders. Much better than I thought!
