Rpm and cadence are more stable. Not jumping from 80 to 145, back down to 45 for example. When you actually on a steady 90.Device returned Firmware update (3.06) available. BSIM confirms Firmware 3.6. No doubt, just a little sloppy programming.
Any ideas what changes the latest firmware brings?
I use a camping mat just to keep the carpet clean of tyre rubber and sweat - it does the trick! Dirt cheap too!Does this come with the trainer or do you have to buy separate.
Tried contacting bkool again, still no response. Not the best way to run a company in my opinion. Order cancelled,
Wiggle to the rescue.![]()
I just use those cheap camping mats, seem to do the job, although with the extendable legs on the pro I need to use two of themcan anyone recommend a mat to use with this trainer please.
That great!
As you know we here not only enjoy using out Bkool trainers but are advocates for the whole hardware/software system you have set up. Its not without its problems though as others here can testify! It would be really good if you were to be able to listen to what we think is clunky or not working and try and get the system working as smoothly and straightforwardly as possible. Thats where I think the quality and therefore value lies in the whole Bkool experience. Oh, and i personally would really like to see an open Ant+ fec protocol adopted. I don't think it will affect your software sales and certainly not the hardware sales.

I uploaded a second route that I completed a while back and this is the response I got from bkool....
"Unfortunately your route for Whinlatter & Newlands Pass 27.65 mile could not be validated and turned into a 3-D route because it has gradients that are too steep or that don’t match reality The GPS data file you sent contains areas with extreme gradients that don’t match the altimetry values that Bkool has for those areas".
It has gradients that are too steep lmao. Wtf...
Hopefully now we can get some problems solved!![]()

Currently have an open query regarding firmware upgrade, same as Bill.
Well, i was going to ride tonight and tomorrow morning as last minute prep for my Alps trip but bkool say they cannot take payments from my account and have disabled the machine! Very strange given bank say they didn't stop a payment and if i use the link from the bkool email to make a payment my browser throws a hissy fit warning me its not safe! Have emailed bkool and await a response.
Just picked up my replacement bkool from Evans. Just got home set it all up and have seen a prompt for update firmware to 3.6. Never got this once with the faulty one. But now the update keeps failing to install, that's with a usb extension cable and the ant+ touching the bkool unit . Bkool is harder work off the bike than on it.
Bkool you should also ask your distributers to handle the boxes a bit better, my new one looks like it's been run over by a truck.
Yayyyyy I'm updated to 3.6. Had to move laptop next to bkool and remove the usb extension cable to update.![]()
Well, here I am again with some BKool analyzing (Me on vacation in poor weather stuck at home is a dangerous thing :-).
I've been trying to figure out what could cause the abnormalities, which seems to happend quite often. My theory was that the system was vulnerable to (unintentional) "Time doping", because it was based on pc time in stead of pc ticks (pc ticks are number of ms since system was startet). I made a few test and voila! I was able to make a ride with both higher total speed and watts than the average speed and watt, just by setting the clock just before ending the session.
Many pc's are configured to update time via a time server, and every time that happens during a session, there's a great risk of screwing up the session.
There are other abnormalities to investigate, e.g. how J.MONTESINOS could be almost a minute behind Pep in "Percorso Monguzzo - Lurago d'Erba" in such a short event, even though he put out more watts. I'm out of vacation though, so I'll leave that to BKool![]()
