There's a few out there (and I include myself) who are getting by on technique, flats, down-hills, wormholes (although I've never found one of those) rather than all out power and power to weight ratio.
Lars, I looked through every ride to see if I once beat you on watts/kg but the closest I've got to you is 0.2 away (sometimes 1.0 away) :cursing:. I've never worm holed and I've even used 2 completely different units so my setup seems all above board. What I don't understand however is that I've been able to beat you 50% of the time. It has occurred to me however that my low watts/kg may be because I am now spinning fast on the downhills then free-wheeling for a few seconds and allowing my watts to drop to less than 100 on the display (zero in reality) so this will lower the average quite considerably where there are negative gradients.
Yes, it definitely matters how you do the session. At my first attempt at Hindeloopen I struggled a bit and my watts were up and down throughout the ride. I just did a second attempt were I was much more stable, but even though I averaged 10 watts more, I was more than half a minute behind.
Hindeloopen is as flat as they get, so the highest watt number should win. Also, I think it was Geoff that pointed out that staying as close to the average speed (= average watt on a flat course without wind) throughout the ride should be the most efficient.
This is clearly not the case with BKool, and the favouritism of "the uneven ride" probably enhances Olvins sessions. He is more than a minute in font, compared with my "even ride", and he did that averaging 100 watts less.

After looking through my history on BKool and Garmin Connect I`ve noticed that before I bought my USB extension lead the time and power output is
very noticeably different on a ride I`ve done 9 times on the BKool , the times and power are pretty much consistent on all but one ride,
the ride with the fastest time 50:54 with an average power output of 157w, I`ve done this ride 8 times since and never got nearer than 53:19 with
an average power output of 232w, some of these rides were done as easier recovery rides but all the average power and average speeds are
consistent apart from this one ride. After that ride I bought the extension lead and used it for the ANT+ dongle and is right next to my BKool trainer
when I do a session instead of about 3 feet away which was where it was when I did the 50:54 time. I wonder if the cause to some peoples
power output and speed being inconsistent with others is anything to do with the distance from their dongle to the BKool unit.

Interesting theory Alfonzo. I have no idea.

Here's an good example of what shouldn't really be possible.

1 Bill S Bkool Trainer Pro 00:37:14 27mph 228.2w 3.0 w/kg
2 Craig Bkool Trainer Pro 00:40:35 24.7mph 250.8w 3.3 w/kg

Craig definitely should have beaten me with his higher power and higher w/kg.

It looks like you beat him on the downhill. Screenshot_2015-08-23-10-32-35.png Screenshot_2015-08-23-10-31-45.png
And at the start.
The scale is different 80 vs 100

Another shot of downhill speed. You, me then Craig. You two use power whereas I use weight.

Thanks Cb300. I'll let ya know how I get on when my trainer lands.
Been using my Garmin sensor since day one, just spin the wheel and Bkool should detect it. Just make sure you have Garmin express disabled when you run Bkool or you wont get zipppppppp

Guys,
Every now and again my trainer makes a clicking sound. The only way to get rid of it is to either stop peddling or speed up. It doesn't happen on every ride, but when it does, its very annoying. Has anyone else had this happen?

MUCH EXCITEMENT!

Just downloaded the new Bsim software after being prompted there. You can now design your own kit (went for a rather fetching Blue and white ensemble) and theres Velodrome games (havent looked at that yet)

I don't like how the new countdown box obliterates everything and you can't see yourself or your opponents on the start line.
Tried to design a new outfit but not sure it looks as good as the standard one. Cadence also seems to be a problem as it was far too low on the display. About half what it should be. I'll wait and see what others think after trying it but so far, not quite as excited as you Rick

Lol. I agree about the cadence. Just completed a ride after posting about the upgrade. I do like the new kit feature. The velodrome additions could be good too. Don't know why the countdown needs to be that big though!!!

Had a bad run today. Was well down on what I'd hoped
