Ill try TR as a power meter tonight, see how it goes.

Bill, will the mountain goats be up and running again this winter?

Darryn, I'm going to get it started again soon, or at least as soon as the Summer Cup finishes. The mountain goats was great for calorie burning if nothing else, but I think the Chain Gang was a lot more fun so we'll hopefully get that up and running again too:smile:

rick, its darned hard enough trying to keep you in sight on the climbs but then you seem to pull away effortlessly on the flats as if you have power to spare. I would bury myself to catch up only to be left with no power whatsoever. The thing is your power looks pretty consistent. Very impressive. And as for Bill and LBHFI:notworthy: I think its gonna be an interesting winter mountain goats series.
Noticed that against Corby I get a slight upper hand on small rolling hills/flats but just cant get up the hills quick enough! I didn't manage to beat your time, so I've still a bit to go to catch you man! :bravo:

Mountain goats is great training for sure but definitely suits the wee men! Chain gang gives us larger riders a chance :training: (at times!)
I really enjoy both leagues and the different aspects they bring. Bring on the cold weather! :snowball:

Rick, I think you can take him. Just get your weight down a bit (that's the hard part I know) and the rest will be easy. I'm also hoping to get my weight down this winter with some serious climbing. After all, I decent session up the likes of d'Huez is at least 1000 calories, or quite a bit more if you weigh more ;)

Wiggle is collecting my bkool unit again, this time for a refund. Trouble is now I see the only option direct from bkool is to purchase with a years subscription, which I've already purchased separately. Anyone know if there's another way? I've just emailed one of the bkool guys direct to ask but want to get the ball rolling asap to avoid being without.

Not sure Bill what would be best to do. The price is steadily rising on the Bkool units by the looks of it. I'd bought mine for £330 from Sigmasport but I see its now £450! Not far off the price Bkool sells it but I assume they must include the subscription now (which mine didnt)

Weights always going to be an issue for me I feel. 6 foot and skinny boned but just seem to hold on to a bit too much muscle mass compared to 'real' cyclists. I'm not big in any way but just compared to other cyclists I'm heavy! I'm really not sure how I can ever get below 13 stone!

Agree with this LB. Skovsgaard is the one I least expect to be able to stay with. In fact I had previously challange him to the same stage you did and experienced almost exactly what you did.
Just challenged Skovsgaard in "Truleigh Hill" and it was a dose of dejavu. I was in front of him before the steepest section of the climb, but he just flew past me and ended up gained a minute on me at the top of the climb. I'm wondering if perhaps the problem is on mine side. I really feel like I'm pushing +400 watts on the steep sections, but what I see on the screen is considerable less. What if I have micro slippage because I'm not as heavy as Skovsgaard. I think I will try to put some extra weight on the bike next time, and see if I get more watts on the steep sections.

I think it's time for me to start putting in more time and longer rides, but this Summer Cup malarkey does make that rather difficult.
I feel the same way. I think I'll take a BKool break after the Summer Cup and get my long distance commuting going again.

I found a dose of food poisoning worked to get me under 13 stone, but I wouldn't recommend it. Oddly I then really struggled to put weight back on and am now stuck about 12st 8ish.

I had to reload my software this morning. Anyone else having problems? I'm on Windows 8.
I often get a blank screen when I start up BSIM. But if I press the esc key I am then presented with an option to log out of BSIM. I can and all is ok. Apart from the server drop outs and very lengthy load times which make no sense given my PC is on an Ethernet connection and right next to my router.

Bill, not aware of another way but hopefully they will agree to at least knock off the price of premium membership. It's now getting close in price to Wahoo's new turbo which is , I think, a tricky place to be.

I've just ordered it and got a bit off for no premium membership. Not the full amount though but I figure that as I'm getting a new for old out of it I'm not doing so bad. £450 without premium membership. I emailed bkool and they sent me a link, and are also going to give me 2 months free to add onto my existing membership. Hope it doesn't take too long to come as my old one will be away tomorrow.
