Sorry about that . I had some front derailleur problems. I saw you were getting close and pushed as hard as I could when the hill began to get steeper again.

It was all good fun. I thought you had a mechanical but was going to take full advantage of it if I could . As it turned out I gave it too much trying to catch you and could only make about 200w for the final stretch so you made all your time back again:cycle:

I asked Bkool if there would be a Winter League - Their reply:
'We are going to have a think about how we can organise it and hopefully very soon there will be a league you can join.'

That would be good - plenty of competition at all levels with a good variety of courses, if it's anything like last time. could do with some longer stages perhaps but overall it was excellent.

With bkool Winter League + the 100 climbs +chain gang +mtn goats its going to be a very busy winter:bicycle:

It sure will be. Frustratingly my builder says issues with cross beams in my loft makes it very trick to lay floor you were talking about Bill. Old house so 2 by 4's everywhere holding everything up and buckling so any substantial weigh, that is me bike and bkool and me laying down the power will have the floor and ceiling underneath shaking. Mrs B will not be amused. He cannot do anything about it till January even though all prepared to lay boards today. Oh well, back to turfing the family out the living room when I can:B) Really envious of those of you with a proper space of your own.

D'uez in 50 mins?!? We shall see but it will be painful!

Hi everyone, is it ok if I join the 3 named groups, not sure if I`ll be able to make
Tuesdays or Thursdays tho as both are quite busy nights for me, will I still be able to
do the leagues if I ride them on different day than most of you?

Hi Alfonzo. Just request to join the groups on the bkool website and make sure we know your bkool user name and you'll be able to do the leagues anytime within the league stage time limits, which is usually at least a week.

Last time I did Alpe d'Heuz it took me 1 hr 25 mins .... 50 mins of pain followed by 35 minutes of absolute pain LOL Hopefully going to give it a go tonight before the rugger gain

Hey Whorty, was that you I saw as I entered the d,Huez ride tonight? If it was, applogies for exiting it straight away but as soon as I entered the ride it had started rather than having a warmup. I've never seen that happen before. I started a new one and hoped you would join it.

Monte. Thanks for dropping by. I noticed the watt readout increasing (all by itself) by about 40 watts with what appeared to be absolutely no extra effort at all

Bob, your loft beams sound the same size as mine 2 X 4's. Also an old house. Possibly worth getting a second opinion as maybe your builder either doesn't want the job or wants to turn it into a big job. If you can stand on one 2 x 4 without it collapsing, they'll be far stronger and more load supporting once you've put the thick chipboard flooring above. Have you gone up there and had a look yourself? A good loft ladder is also a must with the amount of times you'll be going up and down.

It was indeed me. I only managed half the ride though tonight as I was feeling shattered! Been without the Bkool for 2 weeks as the first unit was faulty but have a new unit now so need to get back into it big time.

I did see you join as I was about to drop out, and thought b%gger. It would have been rude of me to drop out as you joined so I was going to stay on the ride, but then you dropped out and I thought you'd not re-join so I quit. I see your time was very impressive!

Lol. Glad to have been some use...

I attempted Alpe d Heuz earlier, and the resistance felt very hard for me and I couldn't get any decent watts and after about 15 mins the bkool trainer made a massive clatter as if some had fallen into the fan housing. Stopped and took the housing apart to investigate and the metal flywheel was so hot I couldn't touch it - is this right ????

I don't think it should be that hot Monte. I've never had that happen (massive clatter or overheating) on any of the 3 units I've had. My first two had other problems. If it persists you might need to send it back.
