Main bit is 53.44/6
http://www.bkool.com/bkoolSessionHistory/showSessionSummary/1373018

Warmed up on Zwift before having a go at Ventou earlier. No signal issues on Zwift but kept being disconnected almost immediately once i went into bkool. Then the video kept freezing for long periods and power and cadence all over the place so I gave up. Wasn't sure the effort would be worth it. Also Sure the issue at bkools server end. Perhaps it just gets too busy at times?

You're now registering 53.44 in the league Bob. Crazy how close it is this time.

Trevor and I ride together now and then, we are in the same club. I recommended he joins in with the mountain goats.
Thanks Guy. Could you get him to pop in to say hi?

Will do. I've done Alpe d'Hues and Ventoux this week, have I done them the right way to register a time for the league?

Yep, you have indeed. It just needed verified as it flagged up that your weight was changed since the start of the league. Great time!!

I've dropped a little weight over the past few weeks since going on be bike a bit more often and don't want to change my weight setting on the bkool now as it obviously gets flagged by bkool when it comes to league rides and such.

But can anyone tell me what difference it makes to a ride on the trainer if my weight is different to what it was set at. eg power and such??? Cause I don't understand it.

Oh and just waiting on wiggle to process the returned trainer so that I can order a new one. Shouldn't be long til I'm up and running.

If anyone fancies a slow ride up Ventoux latter I'll be giving it a goes at about 2-30 this afternoon. I recon it will take me 2 1/2 hours so if any other slowies want a companion join in my ride. Never ridden 21k before so not even sure i can ride that far yet !!! And did someone say it was uphill? :cursing:

Well that hurt :B). I tried an experiment with the software outside the league (because it is manipulating the system at best ). Although it helped, it only showed the same speed as the garmin @ <7% grades. Which on the Alpe d'Huez are rare birds. :banghead:

I managed to complete the session in 2:05:15, about as tired as I have ever been after riding the bike.

I will undo what I have done, but I will not be attempting any of the mountain goat rides again:surrender: At least not until I am a lot lighter and can get a more realistic speed display. :bicycle:

Good effort guys. A team of us went out this year to do the Ventoux challenge, 6 times in a day (2 of each ascent). As prep i did all 3 ascents in one morning on the turbo, man that's a though 5 and half hours. I didn't complete the 6 in the day but did ride the beast 6 times while out there. So guess what i'll be doing next year....??

Did I see an article about that on the cycle show?

Fair play to you doing it 6 times! :bravo:

The trainer is programmed to give more resistance for heavier guys just in the same way as gravity would make it harder for bigger guys to climb the real hills.

For example look at the results for stage 2 in the mountain goats. I'm last, yet I actually produced similar power to most of the others, the difference being I weigh a few kgs more. For me to match the lighter guys I need to produce maybe another 15 watts to keep up to overcome the extra resistance the weight causes.

If you weight is down I'd change it cause it will help you and its not hard to verify your rides afterwards.

Take the above advice and adjust your weight in your profile. The software adjusts and compensates in many different ways according to the input weight you have in your profile. I would take about 4 hours to do the d'Huez session at my now corrected registered weight.

When you max out the resistance the trainer will give. It will then calculate a speed (based on power, cadence and speed) and display it in blue. In my case this was about 1/3 to 1/4 of my garmin registered speed on grades >4%. It makes for a very long and painful sessions :surrender::sweat:

Just completed Ventoux ... 2hrs 20min 52secs . I was aiming for 2hrs 30mins so well choughed! Can you add this to the league please ?
I also did a minute of the Alpe today, can you verify this with my original time of 1hr 22mins 1sec please? Cheers.

Hi all. Thanks for letting me join the group
Now get up Ventoux1

Cheers, it was a bit of a slog. I tried to stay as close to 300 watts as I could and keep the cadence regular. It seemed to work, I knocked 20 minutes off my previous best!
