Brutal is the word. I spent the last 2 miles fighting cramps in my legs as well as trying to keep the turkey tacos I had for dinner before the ride from coming back up.
But it's done and in the books - 2:18. Not a strong effort for me, so I'll probably grind up again, but with a longer break between dinner and riding!
Awww Bob!! I saw your ride and wondered what happened. Looked like you were 90% there. If you can extrapolate a time from what you did I'd be happy to add it to the league results.Had another go at Ventoux. Strangely, feeling better and better as ride progressed. Began to get a few server disconnection issues but rode on after my last experience and then after about 17km the program just froze. No movement, no registering of speed, power etc. I waited a few mins to see if it would clear but no. Closed laptop down and then when restarted bkool was running but paused and eventually uploaded my ride. Somehow another few km had been ridden but power now showing as 170ish compared to an average of 227. Really frustrating because I was on for a decent time. Provided I didn't blow up of course. And now I have to do it again to register for the league.
Bill, that's very nice of you. 1h 24 sound ok?!?Let me think about it. I should really have another go at the weekend. I didn't feel wasted afterwards, not like Alp so all things being equal having another go probably best/fairest to all. Bit concerned about power readings. They dropped whenever the server disconnected and then restarted. In the early stages to conserve energy i stayed around 210-230 and then began to push harder and rarely dropped below 235, a lot of the time around the 250-265 as i prepared for the final 4k gallop and yet its not showing although it seems to be reflected in the split times. My average should be a fair bit higher-or at least I would like to think so

THATS THE SPIRIT! I didn't fancy doing it again, but I was also sure that I couldn't do it as quick a second time, such was the suffering the first. If you want to know how I felt, just try following LB's ghost up there
. I think it was the only time I ever went for a short sleep straight after the ride.
Ahh, will try that. Thought it didn't work for league rides to keep us honest! To get ghosts I've scheduled the ride via the website, then I go to my scheduled rides and edit the ride to add ghosts.
I didn't notice a sticker on my replacement and I'm sure mine came from Spain. It asked me to update the software when i first used it. Maybe yours has the update already?Help !!! new replacement trainer arrived this evening, the first thing I noticed was a sticker on the trainer saying uk market. It hasn't asked me to do an software update, what's your thoughts ??? Planning on a road ride tomorrow but all being well will try it out in anger.
Just wanted to know if anyone else who has had their trainer recently has the same sticker
Mine didn't have a sticker I don't think but it also didn't update. I think it probably has the latest version. I hope.Help !!! new replacement trainer arrived this evening, the first thing I noticed was a sticker on the trainer saying uk market. Oh well, clearly I wasn't trying hard enough!
Actually, how do you add a ghost to a league ride? i don't see the option. Discretion is the better part of valor so i will more likely add my own ghost and just try and stay in front!
final q, better with a turbo trainer tyre? got a 25m gator skin on at the mo that is fraying and need a replacement.
Randy, looks like all the rides need to be approved because of the parameter settings. Mine failed on heart rate and connection dropped.I am not seeing any rides for the top 100 climbs. Is Cheddar open yet?
