A few weeks ago I floated the idea of the "mountain moose" group... We're obviously larger and lumber along at a much slower pace than the goats....

No idea what's involved in setting that up, if it's not too difficult I could do it. I'm not sure the rides would be considerably easier, but the idea would be to get riders with similar abilities.

It's not difficult at all. First start up your group and advertise it on here. Then set up your league. This is quite easy too and even if you don't quite get it right first time the league should still run reasonably successfully. You could make it so that anyone riding your league must set their weight to a minimum.

And Alan, I kind of knew you were going to get past near the end. Sorry I couldn't give you a good race to the line, but I just had nothing left by then.:heat:

Don't apologise BillS! That was a great 3 way battle between me u and Rick. I was just about able to keep the gap to 10 to 20 seconds on the downhill sections and manage to close the gap on the short uphill ramps. I knew I had a chance with that short climb coming at the very end but with the miles ticking down quickly I thought I'd ran out of road so gave it a big dig with 400m to go. I think I nearly blew the head gasket though to get by you and if there had been much to go then I was done for. I was just glad to get over the line as you were closing the gap again.

Agreed. some of us struggle with 25k rides and end up doing 2 hours plus .... I think for us slow guys the very long rides would just be impractical.
An option that would make this work would be to reduce the slope for the ride. Not sure if that can be done for everyone participating in a league ride or not, but may be worth pondering.

Great course for us oldies last night :okay: had a battle with Ryan for the mid placings, was always looking over my shoulder, thought he was going to shoot past on the final hill but managed to hold him off.
Just one question.. talked my son into doing the ride (CJ Bon) but his result don't seem to be showing in the league, He's in the T100 league but don't appear to be in the Thursday league! Is there something he needs to do before joining?

Glad you enjoyed it Bonno. Hopefully the numbers will grow each week to being more competition for all!

I checked the members list there and CJ isn't on it. He needs to join the group and then do the race from the leagues tab or challenge someone from the league table for it to count. :okay:

So I paired the Bkool up with a free trial of the Zwift software and gave it a go. The 3D generated world is far better than Bkools as are the graphics and performance information. Looks very slick and loved the achievements. However, missed the real world videos and course selection of the Bkool but especially the massive route options. Zwift, as far as I am aware has only one route, around a fictitious island and you can get round the whole course in 15/20 minutes. The hills are smaller too on the Zwift. Whilst, I'll probably give it another go, I do prefer the Bkool but there is still significant improvements possible to the software and the graphics.

When I was evaluating a software platform to use with my kickr, the ability to do rides from a gps trail was essential. That ruled out zwift, even if their graphics and realism are better.

I tested 3 platforms against the local climb I knew best. bkool was the closest to reality from a climbing standpoint. The ability for bkool to give me a virtual world for my local climbs until I get a gopro was icing on the cake. Finding this group and the mountain goats, priceless.

I wish bkool had structured workouts and that its website wasn't so clunky. Those are both manageable though.

hey guys, got a Bkool this week and looking to join the various groups here.

My fitness levels are a bit dire at present, but I assume this is ok!? in relation to this does anyone have any other groups they would recommend a beginner to join? Also fave rides/routes they can recommend?
