Guys if you think that was good wait for next weeks EPIC RIDE!!

50km with plenty of flat (althought the hill at the start will break up the field somewhat!) - bound to encourage teamwork somewhere in the midst and will hopefully bring into play new tactics!! Clear your diaries for what will be something completely different to any other Bkool race!!

(Have I bigged it up enough yet??)
50km !!!!!!! Never ever ridden that far in one go. I'll try it but I may be bailing half way through  Definitely be looking to my fellow Mooses to ride with me to keep each other company :hugs:

I was spinning 110rpm in biggest gear and getting retaken by Monte! Are you guys spinning quicker or does my turbo (Vortex Smart) need tweaking?
Thanks
I was spinning +130 rpm (compact 50/11) which should give me a speed at more than 46 mph, but I couldn't get more than 41 mph.

That's the spirit Whorty!
Probably going to be the longest any of us have done on a turbo but think of the achievement and boost of fitness you'll get from it!:bicycle:

How do I check other peoples workouts vs mine on a course we have all finished ? Also, in my brief time in race, I noticed on the climbs I was doing ok but going downhill I was spinning 110rpm in biggest gear and getting retaken by Monte! Are you guys spinning quicker or does my turbo (Vortex Smart) need tweaking?
Thanks

Go to the league results page:

All the data can be seen from there.

One advantage on being a heavyweight = go downhill quick, ps I was spinning like a loony. Good job no one can see what a nutter I look like

Great win Guy. Impressive power curve, especially compared to my erratic one. You should drop in for a chain gang race more often.
Work gets in the way most weeks but I might be able to sneak in to the next one. I was off today and it makes a huge difference being able to eat and warm up properly.

Yes, the trick is to gain as much initial speed, so that you can freewheel downhill faster and let gravity do its job (speed turns blue). So its not like you have to do crazy rpm all the way down.
Of course the slope must be of a certain size for it to pay off. For me that is anything steeper than -5%.

The Supersteep-climb-ability may be partly due to resistance and weight, as light weights (I presume Ryan is one) will not demand as much resistance from the trainer for the same gradient as a heavier rider. So as gradient increases, at a certain gradient, it will max out and cease getting harder for the heavier rider but continue to increase resistance for the lighter rider. Effectively you are still riding up a, say, 12% incline while they have to ride up a, say, 16% incline.
I think I understand what you're saying, but I think this is something different.
I have been using the short UK 100 sessions as interval training, and that's how I discovered my superpower. I have noticed that after an interval, the speed turns blue and gently decreases while I rest. Then the speed gets pumped up again during my next interval.

Maybe this is a general algorithm glitch which affects not only me, but I'm just the only one who discovered it because of my interval training?

Could someone try this "pump"-technique at a +11% section?

What about a Cafe break, for the Mooses, for refreshment and a re-smearing of Vaseline

1st race on Bkool last night (Ciaran). Good fun. Was going well but then got "do you want to finish" message for about 5 mins. I kept going but seemed to not move ie. miles covered stayed same for the 5 mins. Is this normal? I assume this affected my finish time as when it eventually reconnected several other riders had gone past me. ant comments/advise welcome. Thanks

not normal but does seem to happen! I rarely have this but I know others do. I'm guessing it's your PC losing connection with the trainer rather than anything to do with your internet connection - you using an extension lead on the USB dongle?

PS: Glad you enjoyed it!!

I'm waiting on one from amazon so will try that to resolve. One question - when I try to pair my sensors it searches and finds the trainer, my garmin HRM, garmin cadence, and garmin speed sensor (on rear hub). I then tick the boxes to pair but it wont let me pair the trainer and the speed sensor together i.e. if I tick one the other becomes unticked (no problem with the cadence and HRM.) Is there a reason for this?
